While Fox and NBC have announced the fate for 2/3 of their new shows, CBS is batting 100. Today, all of their shows got the news that was just what the doctor ordered, Bob ♥ Abishola, All Rise, The Unicorn and Carol’s Second Act were all picked up for a full season. Wait, what about Evil? Their first season will end with its lucky 13th episode. Does that mean it is cancelled? Not at all, it will be back for a second season.

I think CBS made the right choices. Evil is one of the few broadcast supernatural shows that actually got stronger after the pilot. Last week’s episode went to a place that not many shows will go. It was a brave risk that wound up working. Yesterday, after I watched Bob ♥ Abishola, I hoped CBS believed it enough to keep it around. Today, they did just that. One thing I hope they do on Thursday nights is move Carol’s Second Act, which is a really funny s
sitcom that has shown us a new side of Patricia Heaton, up an hour so it follows Young Sheldon. It is a much better fit with The Big Theory spinoff than The Unicorn. That and I thought the latter was this season’s worst new show.
