Didn’t score an invitation to the wedding? Not to worry. While it took them months to reveal baby Suri to the world, newlyweds Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes — who, it turns out, married in California before heading to Italy — are sharing the details of their nuptials right away. (In fact, the reception is currently still in progress.) The following statement is from the couple’s rep: Rome, Italy (November 18, 2006) – Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were wed just after sunset today at Odescalchi Castle overlooking Lake Bracciano outside of Rome, Italy before more than 150 close family and friends. The official wedding party included Cruise’s children, Isabella and Connor. The Best Man was Cruise’s best friend David Miscavige and the Matron of Honor was Holmes’ sister Nancy Blaylock. Also in attendance were Holmes’ two older sisters, her brother, her mother Kathleen and her father Martin Holmes, who walked her down the aisle, as well as Cruise’s three sisters and mother Mary Lee South and Cruise and Holmes’ seven month old daughter Suri. The traditional marriage ceremony was performed by a Scientology minister. The bride carried a bouquet of flowers made by Giorgio Armani including calla lilies wrapped in leaves of galax and steelgrass while the wedding reception included colorful and elegant floral décor accented with red roses. Giorgio Armani created unique custom-designed attire for the bride, groom, wedding party and immediate family. Katie Holmes wore a fitted Armani off-the-shoulder bridal gown with a train in ivory silk cadis adorned in Valenciennes lace and Swarovski beaded crystal embroidery, featuring a delicate crinoline frill at the shoulders and a silk soleil border around the hem. The gown was complemented by an ivory tulle floor length veil and ivory silk shoes. Tom Cruise wore a navy blue two-button satin peak lapel single breasted Armani handmade tuxedo with flat front trousers and matching four-button vest. The tuxedo was complemented by an ivory silk French collar shirt, of the same fabric as the bride’s gown. For the wedding reception the bride wore an asymmetric champagne Giorgio Armani Privé evening dress of silk organza decorated in Swarovski crystal beads. The groom wore a two-button navy blue suit also made by Armani. Holmes’ and Cruise’s wedding rings were made by Cartier and are white gold with diamonds. Following the ceremony, guests were treated to cocktails featuring specially prepared Italian hors d’oeuvres followed by a multi-course meal. As the evening winded down, the bride and groom cut the five-tiered white chocolate wedding cake which was decorated with marzipan roses, and was studded with white chocolate chips and featured white chocolate mouse and white chocolate cream filling. The couple was serenaded at the wedding reception with a special performance by world-renowned Italian vocalist Andrea Bocelli. The wedding ceremony capped a three day celebration in which invited guests participated in a welcome dinner on the first night at Nino’s Ristorante in Rome hosted by the bride and groom and a rehearsal dinner on the second night at the Villa Aurelia hosted by Martin and Kathleen Holmes. Rome is where Cruise and Holmes’ relationship first became public and holds particular significance for the couple. As is customary for couples marrying outside of the United States, Cruise and Holmes officialized their marriage in Los Angeles prior to their departure for Italy.

Elizabeth Hurley’s wedding postponed. |

When Liz Hurley started planning her eagerly awaited wedding to Arun Nayar, she wanted to ensure her big day would command maximum exposure and, naturally, a decent fee. Plans were in place for the model to marry before Christmas and a £2million deal with OK! magazine was being negotiated. But Elizabeth’s wedding has now been postponed after the 41-year-old insisted on taking charge of the contract herself. The magazine was to have had exclusive access to ceremonies in India – Arun’s home – and at the couple’s Gloucestershire estate as part of the eye-watering deal. There were to be photographs of the bride’s celebrity friends. Elizabeth had instructed a third party to negotiate the contract but then she intervened and now plans have been thrown into chaos. ‘Elizabeth suddenly announced she was cutting out the people she had brought in to handle the deal, which ruffled a lot of feathers,’ I’m told. ‘But it hasn’t worked out for her. She thought she’d be able to plan the wedding herself, and assigned Arun to oversee the Indian ceremony while she was in charge of the Gloucestershire event. But as she is so busy with her swimwear line, it hasn’t happened. ‘Part of the deal is that Sir Elton John and the Beckhams all turn up to be photographed but it’s too late notice for her friends to be at a wedding any time soon. ‘They are now back to square one and trying to set up a new date altogether. Elizabeth wants the wedding of the year.’

Actress Amanda Peet and screenwriter David Benioff were married in New York City on Saturday evening, PEOPLE has learned. The bride and groom exchanged vows in a ceremony held at the actress’s alma mater, Friends Seminary, a Quaker school founded in 1786. Among the guests at the event were actor Mark Ruffalo and his wife Sunrise, actress Elizabeth Berkley and her artist husband Greg Lauren. "It was amazing and as extraordinary as she is," Berkley told PEOPLE after the ceremony. "It was beautiful," Ruffalo said. Peet, 34, who appears in the new NBC drama Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and Benioff, 36, who wrote the screenplays for 25th Hour and Troy, are expecting a child together, Peet’s rep, Stephen Huvane, told PEOPLE earlier this month. In a Sept. 27 appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman, Peet said she was four months pregnant. The couple, who dated for four years, announced their engagement in July 2005. This spring, Peet was on Broadway playing complaining newlywed Corie Bratter in a revival of the Neil Simon comedy "Barefoot in the Park." Asked by PEOPLE how the role might affect her approach to marriage, she said, "Maybe I’ll be less of a drama queen. Now when I try to pick a fight with my fiancé, he’s like, ‘Corie Bratter!’ It’s awful."

It will be interesting to see how Studio 60 will hide her pregnancy since they will not be writing it into the show. OT, I have to admit I really like Studio 60!

Is it just me or is that one of the coldest wedding photos you have ever seen? She looks like a diva and he looks like he doesn’t want to be there? BTW I do not remember from Color Me Badd, does anyone else?
