As we all know Sammy Hagar replaced David Lee Roth in Van Halen for a few years and now he is saying that they weren’t the only band who wanted him to replace their lead singer. He told Forbes, “I was asked at one time to be in Mötley Crüe. I was asked at one time to be in Pantera by their mangers. I was asked to be in Velvet Revolver when Scott Weiland quit and went back to the Stone Temple Pilots. I was waiting to be asked to be in Led Zeppelin to say no, since they were the greatest band on earth and no could replace Robert Plant. I was asked to be in Aerosmith and I said no. Certain bands and certain front man singers are more difficult to replace than others. Steven Tyler and that band have stayed together for forty years and you don’t want to walk into something like that. They had one moment years ago, when they replaced Joe Smith, but it’s still always been Steven at the front of Aerosmith. You don’t replace that. When I came into Van Halen, it was easy because Dave wasn’t a great singer, but he was a good front man. We were all lucky that the fans accepted it and it got bigger. I would avoid bands that are going to break up pretty soon.”
I think he has a better chance replacing Tommy Shaw in The Styx (no offense Tommy) than Vince Neil in Motley Crue, don’t you agree?
My reaction when he told the world that he was abducted by aliens is the same to what he shared with Forbes…he has been drinking way too much of his Cabo Wabo.
I am not saying that he is a bad singer, he just isn’t all that. I saw him live with Van Halen and a solo Vince Neil was the opening act and let me tell you I was left unimpressed.

There were reports over the weekend that Van Halen cancelled their tour because Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth were not getting along. Today Van Halen explained why they had to cancel a few of their dates.
According to Eddie Van Halen's physician, he is undergoing a battery of comprehensive medical tests to determine a defined diagnosis and recommended medical procedures.
Hopefully Eddie's cancer hasn't returned and he still sober. Get well soon because there are way too many fans that want to see Van Halen with David Lee Roth!!!

Bad month for Van Halen |

| Billboard confirms that Eddie Van Halen has entered rehab for "undisclosed reasons" and that none of the current members will be at the Rock and Roll Hall Fame induction ceremony.
Last weeks rumors started to spread that the Van Halen reunion tour was on permanent hold because tickets sales were halted. VH confirmed that the tour was off indefinitely earlier this week. Than reports were saying that the tour was off because of friction between David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen over Eddie's drinking. Then yesterday TMZ got this statement from Eddie's camp.
I would like Van Halen fans to know how much I truly appreciate each and every one of you. Without you there is no Van Halen.
I have always and will always feel a responsibility to give you my best. At the moment I do not feel that I can give you my best. That's why I have decided to enter a rehabilitation facility to work on myself, so that in the future I can deliver the 110% that I feel I owe you and want to give you.
Some of the issues surrounding the 2007 Van Halen tour are within my ability to change and some are not. As far as my rehab is concerned, it is within my ability to change and change for the better. I want you to know that is exactly what I'm doing, so that I may continue to give you the very best I am capable of.
I look forward to seeing you in the future better than ever and I thank you with all my heart.
Love, Ed
To make matters worse, Van Halen will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next week and only ex-bandmates Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony will be on hand to accept the award. Don't get me started on what BS the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony is. There are several inducted bands that can tell you how messed up this show is.

Van Halen no longer hot for touring? |

Pollstar confirms that the tickets for the Van Halen reunion tour with David Lee Roth that were suppose to go on sale this Saturday are on indefinite hold. Looks like Eddie Van Halen's girlfriend, I mean publicist might have jumped the gun by announcing the tour. Oh well, this summer is already overloaded with reunion tours.

Van Halen touring again with David Lee Roth? |

Sources tell Billboard.com a contract could be signed as soon as today for Live Nation to produce a 40-date amphitheatre tour by Van Halen this summer, with original frontman David Lee Roth back in the fold for the first time in more than 20 years. As previously reported, guitarist Eddie Van Halen’s 15-year-old son Wolfgang has stepped in for original bassist Michael Anthony in the new incarnation of the group, which also features drummer Alex Van Halen. "I see it absolutely as an inevitability," Roth told Billboard.com last May of a potential reunion with his ex-bandmates. "To me, it’s not rocket surgery. It’s very simple to put together. And as far as hurt feelings and water under the dam, like what’s-her-name says to what’s-her-name at the end of the movie ‘Chicago’ — ‘So what? It’s showbiz!’ So I definitely see it happening." Sammy Hagar recently told Billboard.com he was concerned Eddie Van Halen was asking too much of his son to have him join the band and promptly perform in front of thousands of people every night. "That’s a lot of pressure for Wolfie. Just ’cause he’s Eddie’s son doesn’t mean he can go out and play in arenas and perform and entertain an audience for two hours," he said. "I would love to see Eddie and Alex get behind Wolfie, with a kid of his age singing, and produce the record for him and help him launch a career. I’d rather see it go that way than come out and say ‘Wolfie’s the bass player in Van Halen and maybe singing, too.’ Van Halen’s got way too much history to have that put on him."

I would love to see them touring with David Lee Roth because the only time I saw them was with Hagar (and no offense to him) it is just not the same.
