In Plain Sight is something to see!
June 1st, 2008 under USA Network. [ Comments: 1 ]

“In Plain Sight” stars Mary McCormack (“Traffic: The Miniseries,” “The West Wing”) as Mary Shannon, a U.S. Marshal working in the highly secretive branch of the witness protection program who relocates Federal Witnesses. Many of them are career criminals. Some of them are innocents who had the misfortune of witnessing a crime. They all have one thing in common – someone wants them dead. Mary’s job is to see that doesn’t happen, while at the same time attempting to manage her own dysfunctional family.

In Plain Sight premieres on USA tonight at 10p and it is something to see!
I never thought I would like a show about witness protection, but when it comes to In Plain Sight I thoroughly enjoyed it. Each week Mary and partner Marshall are trying to help people who have had their lives uprooted to Albuquerque to enter the witness program. They are from all over the country, they are young, old, families and people who had the wrong job at the wrong time. It is interesting to watch the reactions of different people as they are told they have to give up their lives and say goodbye to everything in their past. You wonder if you can do it, I don’t know if I can. But this show it is not only about their journey. but protecting them after they make the move.
In Plain Sight is not your usual procedural show and the pace of it is so fast that you will be shocked to see the show is almost over when you will think it has just started! Mary McCormack is good as tough a$$ with a little bit of a heart Mary Shannon. Frederick Weller is perfect as her partner, his timing and delivery is spot on and being cute doesn’t hurt him. The only thing i can live without is her family, they feel thrown in and are so over the top I wouldn’t mind if they were written off the show.
So tune to In Plain Sight tonight on USA at 10p!!!

A new doctor is in Monk’s house
April 30th, 2008 under USA Network. [ Comments: none ]

Hector Elizondo has been cast as Adrian Monk's new psychiatrist according to Michael Ausiello. He is replacing Stanley Kamel, who played Dr. Kroger, who sadly passed away earlier this month. No word how Monk will deal with with the new addition, but you know that the show will deal with it properly when it is back on USA on July 18th.

The USA Grinches cancel The Dead Zone too
December 19th, 2007 under USA Network. [ Comments: 2 ]

USA has given us some major coal in our stockings as not only have they cancelled The 4400, but word comes from Broadcasting and Cable that The Dead Zone now lives up to its middle name and is no longer in its last names.
I really loved The Dead Zone and it kept getting better with age, but with age comes costs and even though they cut their costs last season USA still didn't pick them up. USA now has major holes in its Summer Sunday nights and at least one less viewer. Bah humbug.
BTW the news is even grimmer because Monk might not be coming back for a seventh season because they are in contract talks with Tony Shaloub that stalled before the strike. USA would be stupid not to give the multi-Emmy award winner everything he wants, but then again we are talking the network that dropped 2 of my favorite summer shows.

USA cancels The 4400
December 19th, 2007 under USA Network. [ Comments: 1 ]

Scott Peters broke the sad news on The 4400 message board that The 4400 was cancelled. Although last season went in a different direction that always didn't work, I am really bummed to see this show get cancelled. Now I wonder if The Dead Zone suffered the same fate as The 4400?

Special Monk and Psych Christmas shows tonight on USA 9p!
December 7th, 2007 under Tony Shalhoub, USA Network. [ Comments: 2 ]

Christmas comes early for me tonight thanks to USA for doing holiday episodes for Monk and Psych. Of course it would have been better if they did one for The Dead Zone and picked up that show for another season!
BTW as we all know Emmy winning Tony Shaloub’s Monk is hysterically funny, but if you have never seen Psych tune into for some Holiday Cheer on USA at 10p!!!
