Back in early November, Al Roker was rushed to the hospital due to blood clots traveling from his leg up to his lungs. He spent almost the whole month there, but he was finally released on Thanksgiving.
Even though he was allowed to go home, he was not cleared for work. That is because he was still physically weak from his hospital stay.
Finally, today we got some good news, and that breaking news is that Roker will be back doing the weather on Today on Friday because he is no longer under the weather!
At least we got this. #CNN has botched ringing in the New Year in New Orleans by playing "Back That Azz Up" and #DonLemon missed the New Years countdown because he couldn't hear the producers.#CNNNYE#CNNnewyearpic.twitter.com/VfUkblgBT2

There is only one thing that every host is required to do when they are hosting a New Year’s Eve special. And that is to do the countdown to midnight.
However, a sober Don Lemon missed the one for the central time zone because he was singing and dancing with everyone in New Orleans. And you know what, they didn’t care because they could drink, unlike Lemon.
It is pretty sad when the most trusted name in news can’t even get the countdown right. But that was not their worst offense of the night. Keeping all of their on-air people sober was their biggest mistake.
Here is hoping they get rid of that policy next year because it was a big fail, just like everything the new head of the network has been doing since he started there.
Mark Woodley is a Sports reporter/anchor at KWWL in Waterloo, Iowa. However, they asked him to switch up his hours and work the morning show that starts at 4:30a. Not as an anchor, but as a reporter out in the field to cover the snow blizzard.
To say that he was not happy about that would be an understatement. Instead of acting like he didn’t mind that he was freezing his ass off in the middle of the night, he let them know how unhappy he was about the assignment during every liveshot.
Therefore, giving them the best morning newscast in their history!
So the moral of this news story is that you need to screw with the sports guys more often! Believe me; they deserve it! If you have ever worked in a newsroom, you know what I am talking about.
Although, I can tell that Woodley is a lot of fun to work with. And now that 2021’s Iowa Sportscaster of the Year has gone viral, I have a feeling that they are going have him cover news more often! And I hope they do because we need more people like him in the news. Just don’t tell my friends that I said that.
The other day Global TV Morning anchors in Calgary decided to give themselves Christmas Elf names and didn’t tell Leslie Horton, who was out in the field.
So imagine her surprise when Tiffany Lizée tossed to her as Peaches Cookies Fingers. Fingers responded with, “What? Is that stripper my name?”
They all had a jolly laugh when they explained it was her Elf name!
And with that, Peaches went from the naughty list to the nice one! Or is it the other way around?
All I know is that live TV is the best because you never know what is going to happen.
Al Roker spent almost all of November in the hospital dealing with clots that traveled from his leg up to his lungs. Finally, after over a month in the hospital, he was released on Thursday just in time to spend the holidays with his family.
Now that he is home, when can he return to his second home? Today, he made an appearance on Today, and he gave an update on his health. The 68-year-old is going to need some more time off to build back his strength because he says this stay was his hardest one yet. Therefore, he is working with physical therapists and the doctors to get back into fighting shape.
Then, he will be back brightening our mornings, like a day full of sunshine. Remember those?
Back to Roker. Even though he is down, temporarily, he doesn’t look out.
