Chip and Joanna Gaines explain why they quit Fixer Upper
October 17th, 2017 under HGTV, TV News. [ Comments: none ]

I am not type of person who watches HGTV, but even I know who Chip and Joanna Gaines are. Their show Fixer Upper is one of the most watched home renovation shows on television. Therefore when they announced they were giving up their show at the height of its success, everyone wanted to know why?

Today they spoke Today and explained why they made the decision that they did. When Savannah Guthrie asked them if it had anything to with possibly saving their marriage, Chip said to her, “Look I’ll give them a little credence.” Then he explained why, “The most important thing in the world is Jo and I’s relationship, followed very quickly by these four beautiful kids (of ours). We didn’t want to push it, to redline it for so long that we woke up and realized we are at a point of no return. So we wanted to take a step back and focus on what is absolutely the most important thing to us.” And his wife confirmed his sentiment with, “We have this young growing family & I think that was one of the biggest reasons why.”

Now for the all important question that their fans want to know the answer to, would they do another show. Chip says, “Absolutely!” But first they are going to enjoy this break with their family. Then in time they will become part of our families again.

How upset are you that Fixer Upper is ending after 5 wonderful seasons? Who will be your new Fixer Uppers?

Megyn Kelly’s cameraman describes the show in one word
September 28th, 2017 under TV News. [ Comments: none ]

Megyn Kelly’s debut week is proving to be a catastrophic fail, and today her cameraman perfectly summed that up when he accidentally stepped in front of another cameraman. He said, “💩” live on air. Which is what the show is. Can anyone disagree? Debra Messing cannot. Jane Fonda cannot. We cannot. And I am sure NBC is saying it too.

Megyn Kelly made the mistake of asking Jane Fonda about her plastic surgery
September 27th, 2017 under Jane Fonda, TV News. [ Comments: none ]

Megyn Kelly has a new talk show on NBC and the news anchor thought that doing entertainment interviews would be easy. Guess what, they are not.

The show has only been on the air for 3 days and she has already pissed off two celebrities. First it was Debra Messing and today it was Jane Fonda. Fonda and Robert Redford were on Today to talk about their movie, but instead Kelly only wanted to talk about everything else. First she wanted to know about the Way We Were with Barbra Streisand, and Fonda was not having it. Then Kelly brought the conversation back the actress, but not on a topic she wanted to discuss.

The anchor asked her why Fonda regrets getting plastic surgery because she looks wonderful now. If looks could kill, Kelly would be dead. When Fonda could talk, she told her, “We really want to talk about that right now?” Then she brought the conversation back to the movie.

Kelly kept asking questions, but the tension was there and no amount of Oscars could hide how pissed off the co-stars were at their interviewer.

If Kelly keeps this up, she will not be interviewing any stars. I would assume, NBC is calling in favors and there is only so much the publicists will take. She is lucky she got the names she did for her first week because publicists normally do not put their big clients on a new show. They wait to see how it does before they book their clients on it. The more she pisses off stars and they go to press with their dissatisfaction, the harder it is going to be for her to even get C-Listers.

Heck at the rate she is going, I would not be surprised if by next week the format of the show will change. She will not be interviewing celebrities. Instead, she will be doing feature interviews and cooking segments.

Not only are her interview questions bad, she is really awkward and says the dumbest things. She is not good at being funny, so she needs to stop. Actually, she needs a new job. Although, I like that she gives me stuff to post. What do you think?

Lawrence O’Donnell is not the first anchor to lose it!
September 22nd, 2017 under TV News. [ Comments: none ]

This week, everyone has been obsessed about watching Lawrence O’Donnell lose it with his production team. News Be Funny put together a video with other anchors blowing their stacks too. Thus, he is not the first one and he will not be the last. Plus, he is in the company of Bill O’Reilly and the late Jessica Savitch, who also yelled at their crew.

I spent a lot of my career working in TV news, and I have seen other anchors and reporters lose it, off camera, before they were ready to go on or after a liveshot went bad. Sometimes you can understand why they do it and then other times it is just because they are an a$$hole. The a$$holes deserved what was coming to them and even more than they got.

September 19th, 2017 under Before They Were Famous, TV News. [ Comments: none ]

Before David Muir was anchoring ABC’s World News Tonight in NYC, he was doing it at WTVH in Syracuse, NY. You can tell in 1998 that that 24-year-old local news anchor was going to go network some day.
