Tom Hanks can get away with committing crimes!
June 14th, 2019 under Tom Hanks. [ Comments: none ]

Tom Hanks is one of the most beloved stars in Hollywood. Do people love him so much, that he can get away with blatantly committing a crime?

That is what Jimmy Kimmel wanted to find out. Therefore, he sent the actor out to the souvenir shop a few doors down from where Jimmy Kimmel Live tapes to steal a cardboard cut out of himself. Would the multi-Oscar winner do it?

Of course, he would! The only thing he thinks he could get arrested for is “being too charming.” No lawyer could object to that.

With that dare, Hanks left the studio, walked over to the store, greeted some tourists, vandalized a Matt Damon cut out and stole his own. I guess he liked it so much he also stole some fake Oscar statuettes. Did anyone stop him? Of course, not. It is Tom Hanks, he can get away being a thief. After all, he already stole all of our hearts!

I think this would make a great reality show. Every week, Tom Hank is sent somewhere around the World to steal something to see if he can get away it. With each episode, it gets progressively harder until he gets up to the DaVinci Code level of thievery. How exciting would that be to watch? Plus, his comedic commentary would make it even more fun to watch.

I just hope he does not run into the one police officer who has never seen any of his movies. Is that even possible? Who hasn’t seen Forrest Gump, Toy Story, Big or The Green Mile? The latter one better not be the movie the cop is a major fan of and wants to aspire to for Hanks’ sake.

What has Ellen DeGeneres done that she will never do again?
May 22nd, 2019 under Ellen DeGeneres, Tom Hanks. [ Comments: none ]

We have all done things once that we will never do again. For me, it was going to Alabama (I have been saying that ever since I went there and have never been back). For Tom Hanks, it was not following the Instapot directions to a T. For Ellen DeGeneres, it is dating men! That is obvious, but it was still great the way she answered the question.

While we did not learn much else from this Burning Questions segment, I think the Governor of New Jersey needs to give him his own bridge. Why not rename the George Washington Bridge after him. Oh wait, if they did, then anyone going over it would hate him. Better yet, what about the Goethals Bridge, who cares what the people of Staten Island think! I am from The Bronx, I can say that! That and I tease my cousin, who lives there, about that all the time.

Do you want to see Toy Story 4 from both sides now?
November 12th, 2018 under Tim Allen, Tom Hanks. [ Comments: none ]

Strange things are afoot for Toy Story 4 and things will not be the same for Buzz Lightyear and his friends starting on June 21, 2019.

What are those things? “Woody has always been confident about his place in the world and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called ‘Forky’ to her room, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy.”

Hopefully, our friends will not be too forked in this movie.

Tom Hanks as Mister Rogers

Tom Hanks is going to play Mister Rogers in a movie about the television icon and today we got the first look at him in the role.

The movie that comes out next October is being described as, “a timely story of kindness triumphing over cynicism, based on the true story of a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and journalist Tom Junod. After a jaded magazine writer (Emmy winner Matthew Rhys) is assigned a profile of Fred Rogers, he overcomes his skepticism, learning about empathy, kindness, and decency from America’s most beloved neighbor.”

As much as I like the Oscar winner, I only see an older version of Forrest Gump sitting there on the trailer steps. What about you? Having said that, I think Hanks is perfect to play him because he is just as likable as the children’s TV show host.
