Jessica Alba signed on to star in horror thriller “The Eye” for Tom Cruise's production company. According to FemaleFirst the “Sin City” star signed a $4 million deal to star in the film, which is a remake of the Hong Kong film “Jian Gui”. The film is being made for the “Mission: Impossible” star's Cruise/Wagner Productions, but it isn’t yet known whether Cruise will co-star in the film. 25-year-old Alba is to play Allison, a woman who received an eye transplant that allows her to see into the supernatural world. Production starts next month on location in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
According to Latino Review – and they do seem to have some solid contacts at Warner Bros; remember who scooped the web on Brandon Routh playing Superman? – Katie Holmes will not be back in “The Dark Knight”, despite the fact that her character, Rachel Dawes, will appear in the film. I assume Holmes has opted not to reprise the role – or the producers have opted to save money and recast another actress – because the part she’ll play in the sequel is super-small. I’m talking ten-minutes or less. She’ll still be a pivotal part in the movie, but, well, let’s just say that it doesn’t much matter who plays her. It’ll only really affect the film’s accountant… who’ll probably have a few bucks left on the table because he hasn’t hired Holmes. I liked Holmes in "Batman Begins", I thought she fit the bill. I think It’ll be a minor injury to the film having a different actress play the part. Pity. So yep, they’re looking for another young brunette to play Dawes in the film.
I still have not seen the movie, but I heard she was the worst part of a good movie. I guess Tom has officially ruined her career, and he isn’t even casting her in his movies…which is a good thing because both can’t act.
Queen Latifah and Katie Holmes are in talks to star in "Mad Money," a pic to be directed by "Thelma & Louise" scribe Callie Khouri. Nu Millennium and Granada are financing the film. Glenn Gers script, based on British film "Hot Money," concerns three female employees of the Federal Reserve who plot to steal money that is about to be destroyed. Khouri did a rewrite on the script; pic will shoot in Shreveport, La. The third actress is not yet cast. Holmes, who is making her return to acting after maternity leave, has dropped out of "The Dark Knight," Warner Bros.' Christopher Nolan-directed sequel to "Batman Begins."
Marc Anthony needs to sit Tom Cruise down and either show him how to dance or tell him not to dance in public. That was just another moment to add to the Tom Cruise is so sad list. I used to have a list for how hot Tom Cruise is, but that was ’80s and ealry ’90s.
