Back in 1986 a sane Tom Cruise, a skinny Val Kilmer and Anthony Edwards with a full head of hair made a little movie called Top Gun that made them big stars. Now 24 years later Paramount is looking to do a sequel for the movie. According to Vulture Paramount has asked producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Tony Scott to work on a follow-up to the blockbuster and a writer has been hired. They also added that Tom Cruise would return as Maverick, but only in a supporting role.
I am not sure how I feel about this because it has been so long since the original one came out, but the one think I am happy about is that is not a remake. We already have too many of those sadly happening.

Katie Holmes attended Variety’s 2nd Annual Power Of Women Luncheon and she stood taller than everyone else at the event. Not only was she a giant, she wore one of her ugliest dresses ever. It seriously looked like someone made a dress out of her grandmother’s bedspread. Or maybe one day when Suri and her were shopping at Linens and Things, she liked the pattern and designed the dress for her mom. Afterall Mrs Tom Cruise has said that her little girl dresses her, why couldn’t she have designed that dress with such an uneven bottom. OMG you know the Project Runway judges would rip that designer a new one.
BTW back to her being so tall, who knew that Adam Shankman was so short. That and I thought Jennifer Garner was taller than that, but then again she is not wearing the stilettos that Katie is wearing.

Suri Cruise and her parents Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were seen walking the streets of Prague. Little Suri was pushing a baby carriage and I am wondering if she is trying to tell her parents she wants a baby sister or brother to play with? Looking at the way she is looking at her dad, she definitely wants something!
Can you picture Goodfellas starring Tom Cruise and Madonna as compared to Ray Liotta and Lorriane Bracco? Well if the producers would have gotten who they originally wanted in the roles it would have been a completely different movie. According to The NY Post Irwin Winkler told GQ, “‘Tom Cruise was discussed. Marty [Scorsese, director] wanted Ray [Liotta]. Frankly I thought we could do a lot better,’ he said. But Ray’s determination eventually won them over, ‘My wife [and I] were having dinner one night in a restaurant and lo and behold, Ray Liotta came over to me. He said, ‘Look, I know you don’t really want me for it, but…’ And he sold me on the role right that evening. As for Madonna, producer Barbara de Fina remembers, ‘Madonna seemed to be in the mix. I remember that we went to see her in the play Speed-the-Plow. Marty said hello to her afterwards. Can you imagine? Tom Cruise and Madonna? But Marty can get a performance out of almost anyone.'” I have never seen Goodfellas and even I know they would be a bad choice for the roles. Almost as bad as if Bette Midler and Eddie Murphy were actually cast in Driving in Miss Daisy as the studio executives wanted.
BTW I wonder if Madonna and Cruise would have made the movie together, if they would have hooked up. It was around that time that Tom had finalized his divorce with Mimi Rogers and Madonna was on the outs with Warren Beatty. Could you imagine ToMadonna? They would have been the TomKat of their time.

Tom Cruise went to the premiere of his wife’s new movie The Romantics yesterday and the way Katie Holmes keeps touching his belly I wonder if they have something to tell us? Seriously is she trying to share the news with us that Suri is going to be a big sister and this time the Rain Man star in the mother?
