Whether you have seen A Christmas Story once or a million times, you know that scene where the boy licks the pole after he was tripple dog dared to do it and his tongue gets stuck to it.
How did the producers make that moment look so authentic? TBS revealed that very secret. They did not use a real metal flagpole on an ice-cold day. Instead, they made a fake one that had a hole in it. Behind the hole was a vacuum that created a sucking effect.
In a way, Scott Schwartz got his first French kiss. Let’s be honest, we all had a partner who kissed like a vacuum cleaner.
Don’t forget you can watch the movie again and again this Christmas during their TBS 24-hour marathon of it. Contrary to the rumors, it was not cancelled.
Every December 25th, TBS airs A Christmas Story 24-hour marathon that starts on Christmas Eve. People look forward to it, otherwise, they would not be doing it over and over again. But, could this year be without it? Some site, that is now on Santa’s naughty list, is reporting they pulled the plug on the beloved movie.
Oh no, it is like when WPIX cancelled the Yule Log all over again. Fear not because like that fire, it is going on and on. That is because TBS wanted to let us all know, “We are NOT cancelling our ‘A Christmas Story’ marathon! #LegLampForever.”
To honor the happy news, let’s all stick our tongues on a frozen pole. What is the worst that can happen?
It is going to be Ken Jeong vs Shaq on Drop the Mic. I hope for Dr. Ken’s sake, he loses. Because if he won, then Shaquille O’Neal might drop him. If he drops him, then there will be no more Jeong.
Actually, the battle of the diss already happened. To see who won, then you can watch it on the TBS site.
Even though this already happened, the photo is way too awesome not to share.
Chris Pine is working with Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins on another project and this one is for TNT. Starting this January their limited series, I Am the Night, debuts and the true story is more interesting than the trailer that was released today.
Fauna Hodel was raised by an African-American woman but turns out the White girl was adopted. When she was 15, she found out the woman who raised her was not her mom and decided to find out who her real parents were. What she found was even weirder than a White girl being raised by a Black woman in the ’50s and ’60s.
Her mom had her at 16 and claimed the girl’s father was Black so that no would question her being raised by a Black bathroom attendant/maid in Vegas. The girl’s grandfather was a well-known doctor in Hollywood. Not only because of his clients but also because he was accused of killing one of them. That patient is the Black Dahlia and she is not the only person that it is believed that he murdered.
Did not get any of that from the trailer, I did not either. I did some research so you did not have to. Now that you know what it is about, how much more do you want to watch this mini-series at the start of the new year?
Back in September, TBS picked up People of Earth for a third season, and now they have decided to change their minds. Creator, David Jenkins, tweeted, “Just got word last night: TBS has cancelled People of Earth. Thank you to everyone who was a fan of the show and enjoyed its gentle, amiable sci-fi weirdness. It was an honor sharing this show with you. Let’s do it again soon. Love you all.”
No reason on why they backtracked so late into the production of the show, so hopefully someone else will save it. There should be a network for unfairly cancelled shows, for series like this one, Heathers, Lucifer, Last Man on Earth and so on.
