On the day of the season finale of The Bill Engvall Show on TBS, TBS announced that this hysterical old school sitcom was picked up for a second season! For those of you who are missing the classic sitcom style this show seriously fits the bill. In case you missed this season, don't worry it will be back for more!!!
Hunky Jeremy Sisto guest stars on TBS's My Boys tonight at 10p and I can't wait to watch him on the show!
P.J. (Jordana Spiro) gets a call from an old friend, Thorn (Jeremy Sisto), and suddenly buried feelings begin to resurface. When Mike (Jamie Kaler) has trouble finding a job, Kenny (Michael Bunin) offers him a position at his memorabilia shop. Meanwhile, Brendan (Reid Scott) is forced to “DTR” (define the relationship) with Colleen, and Stephanie (Kellee Stewart) struggles to stay out of debt with the help of her fiscal fitness coach, Lance.
And if you are looking for something to watch in the afternoon tune into Star Jones on Court TV at 3p. You know thats show is going to be interesting to say the least.
Michael Ausiello is reporting that USA has picked up the hit show Burn Notice for a second season! There is something I like so much about the show, I think largely because of the chemistry between Jeffrey Donovan and Bruce Campbell and Sharon Gless or just because I miss Miami and they show plenty of it in this show. It is a fun show I was not expecting to like so much! In another renewal notice, TNT has picked up it's new hit show Saving Grace with Oscar winner Holly Hunter for 15 more episodes!
I have to admit I am not one Steven Spielberg's biggest fans, but this 90 minute documentary, Spielberg on Spielberg is amazing. Say what I/you want about him but he has directed most of the biggest money makers of all time so it was interesting to see how those movies came about. It starts out how he got started in the biz and even shows his first films and pictures of him as a teen and young lad. I didn't know he started in TV, did you? It then goes on to describe his first feature film Duel which is one my dad's favorite movies. From there on we learn about all of his films and how they came about.
It was really interesting and a fast moving 90 minutes that leaves you wanting more! Whether you are Spielberg fan, seen one of his films or just want to learn about the business from one of the most respect men in the biz you will enjoy this show. So tune into TCM tonight at 8p and watch what he has to say!
Heartland is a show with a heart! Heartland premieres on TNT tonight at 10p and I can tell you after watching the first two episodes this show is amazing! David Hollander who also created The Guardian has another great show on his hands with Heartland. I will be honest this show had me at Treat Williams, I have been a fan of his work since Hair and part of the reason I was so upset that Everwood was canceled because it meant I would no longer be able to watch him every week. In fact another reviewer said it best that Treat’s character Dr Nathaniel Grant is like Dr Andy Brown before he moved to Everwood, which in ways so so true. I also realized that it wasn’t Greg Berlanti who made Everwood so great, it was Treat Williams. Seriously there is something so calming about him, that everyone will want to have him as their doctor.
Now back to the show, Heartland is about how Dr Nathaniel Grant and the people he works with deal with their daily lives in a hospital’s transplant unit. Although other shows have done the transplant storyline, none have been based solely on just that and I can’t believe it took them so long to do so. But then again good things come to those who wait and the timing was just right because this show handles it just right. Kari Matchett (Invasion) plays Dr Grant’s ex-wife who works as a donor-coordinator at the hospital. She is also raising their daughter who is going through her rebellious teenage years. Grant who will get a promotion in the pilot still talks the person he replaces (Dabney Coleman) and their conversations really help with the show’s dynamic. Another part of the show I like is that is that Grant sees the people whose organs have been transplanted in the people they were transplanted to. Unlike Raines it is just the right amount of a glance that it is touching without being overdone. The only complaint I have about the show is I wish they would spend a little more time on the people getting the transplants, but other than that I have a new show to watch every week and so will you! So tune in to Heartland tonight at 10p on TNT and enjoy what will be the sleeper hit of the summer!
BTW The Closer is also premiering tonight on TNT at 9p. I have never seen the show, but my friend who hated TV loves this show!!!
