The Idol is one of the most hated new shows of the year. So what I am about to tell you won’t surprise you. HBO cancelled the series that starred The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp after one season.
“The Idol was one of HBO’s most provocative original programs, and we’re pleased by the strong audience response,” an HBO spokesperson said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “After much thought and consideration, HBO, as well as the creators and producers have decided not to move forward with a second season. We’re grateful to the creators, cast, and crew for their incredible work.”
Incredible work? Who the fuck are they kidding? It was shit. The Weeknd sucked. And he wasn’t even the worst one. That title goes to Hank Azaria. His fake Israeli accent was beyond dreadful, as was his acting.
The only positive parts were Depp and Da’Vine Joy Randolph.
You know, I wonder if the series would have gotten a second season if they had gone with the original concept and not listened to The Weeknd’s vision. It was a mistake like his ego. So, I guess you can say he played himself—someone with an ego who has nothing to back it up.
This was Abel’s first stop with two nights back to back so it’s understandable that his voice is strained and lost :/ I hope he recovers quickly, he sounds devastated
The Weeknd was performing his second show on the tour, but he stopped his performance after two songs.
“My voice went out during the first song and I’m devastated. Felt it go and my heart dropped,” the singer wrote. “My deepest apologies to my fans here. I promise I’ll make it up to you with a new date.”
Hopefully, Abel Tesfaye’s voice will be at 100% soon, and he will be back doing what he loves to do.
Remember a year ago when The Weeknd got all of that work done to his face to make him look younger? Well, it has had the opposite effect.
Today, the 31-year-old singer shared a new selfie of himself, and he looks at least twice his age. I guess the moral of the story is don’t stand in front of the blinding lights for too long because it will age you beyond your years.
The Weeknd’s tour has been postponed three times due to the pandemic, and today he announced that it struck out.
“Due to constraints of arenas and the demand for more shows I want to do something bigger and special for you which requires stadiums,” he wrote. “Current tickets will be refunded automatically and all ticket holders will be given priority to buy tickets for the stadium shows when they go on sale.”
The singer’s arena tour was supposed to start in January, but now he is moving it to stadiums in the summer.
I don’t think he can fill up a stadium. He better have some good acts with him, but I bet he wants to do it solo.
