The Golden Bachelor premieres on ABC tomorrow, but Gerry Turner appeared on Good Morning America today to talk about it.
Lara Spencer had a lot of questions for the 72-year-old, and one of those questions was, did he find love? Due to his contract, he cannot specifically answer that question. So he told her, “Well, if I didn’t, would I be sitting here smiling, like, from ear to ear?” Not only was he smiling, but he was acting like a little boy in love.
So I think we have our answer. Hopefully, they will be one of the rare couples from The Bachelor franchise who actually make it.
ABC is switching up The Bachelor this season. They are going with an older gentleman. Not as in, he is in his 40s, but Gerry Turner is 71.
If you are going to have a Golden Bachelor, then you can’t have 20-somethings vying for his love. So today, the network announced the 22 women whose ages range from 60-75 that are going to try to win Gerry’s heart.
The lucky ladies are:
Anna, 61, a retired nutritionist from Summit, N.J.
April, 65, a therapist from Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Christina, 73, a retired purchasing manager from Sierra Madre, Calif.
Edith, 60, a retired realtor from Downey, Calif.
Ellen, 71, a retired teacher from Delray Beach, Fla.
Faith, 60, a high school teacher from Benton City, Wash.
Jeanie, 65, a retired project manager from Estill Springs, Tenn.

I have to admit, I am sold! I can’t wait to watch. Because the older you get, the less fucks you give. Therefore, their arguments are going to be so much hotter! Yeah, like hockey, I tune in for the fights. What is wrong with that?
Yesterday, The Bachelor world was shocked when they heard of the sudden passing of Josh Seiter, who competed on the 11th season of The Bachelorette. His death was announced on his verified Instagram page. And the press ran with it.
There is one problem with the story. He is NOT DEAD.
Today, he took to his page to declare he is alive and explained what happened. “Hey guys, as you can see, I am alive and well,” he said. “My account was hacked. For the last 24 hours, I’ve been trying desperately to get into it. Somebody was playing a cruel joke and mocking my mental illness and the struggles I’ve gone through with depression and suicide attempts, and I’m sorry for all the pain they’ve caused when they made that post. I just got back into my account. I am going to do all I can with my team to identify who was behind this. But again, I apologize for the confusion. And I will update you guys as more facts come in. Thank you, guys.”
This is the second fake death announcement made on Instagram. Almost three weeks ago, someone hacked Little Tay’s account and said that the viral star and her brother were dead. Thankfully, both of them are alive and well.
This, whatever it is, needs to stop because this is sick.
When ABC announced that they are doing a version of The Bachelor with seniors, I thought they were going to cast people in their 40s and 50s.
Today, on Good Morning American, they announced who will be the lucky man looking for love, and it is 71-year-old Gerry Turner.
Why does the retired restauranter from Indiana want to find a new wife? Because in 2017, he suddenly lost his wife after a short illness, who was also his high school sweetheart. He knows that she wants him to be happy. So he is finally ready to try his hand at happiness again.
Are his two daughters and two granddaughters happy for him? Very! However, they might be singing a different tune when they watch the dating show in the fall and see how much sex he is getting. I know I was traumatized when my dad told me about the first time he had sex with a woman after my mom passed away.
When it comes to Gerry, I think the Bachelorettes are all going to fight for him because he seems like a catch! But then again, has there ever been a season of The Bachelor where there isn’t a fight?
There is a strike going on in Hollywood. And the Writers’ strike is probably going to be the first one. Chances are either the DGA or SAG are going to follow suit in the next few months.
Therefore the networks have had this in mind as they planned for the Fall. CBS is going on as is. NBC had a few shows in the bank. Fox is yet to announce their schedule. And today, ABC revealed that they are going all reality, game shows, and repeats.
And that makes me wonder, are people going to tune in for that, or will they watch something original on streaming?
I mean, old people on The Bachelor, aka The Golden Bachelor, could be fun. Or it could get old, pun intended, quickly.
Although I have to admit, Disney and ABC played this round well. Because they are trying to tell everyone that they are not afraid of your strike because they will find ways around it.
However, we won’t know if they won that round for a few months. I am hoping they lose because I prefer scripted over unscripted. What about you?
