About two weeks ago, Sharon Osbourne got into a heated debate with her co-hosts because she defended her undefendable friend Piers Morgan. Things got so heated that the show has only recorded one new episode since then, and as of now, they have no return date to go live again.
CBS says it is because they are investigating the debate and comments made by the staff to HR about Osbourne. However, Osbourne thinks it is to look into which CBS executive ordered the show to confront her about defending Morgan on Twitter. She said she felt blindsided by the questions.
Since the show went on hiatus, there have been several reports of Osbourne using racial and sexual discrimination names against her former co-hosts. She has denied that she said that.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she said she did not know what the future holds for her and the daytime talk show. However, The Sun spoke to a source, and it sounds like she wants out, but it will cost them a lot of money.
A source close to her said: “She is furious about the slew of accusations made about her and is refusing to bow to the mounting pressure to leave.
“As far as she is concerned, she apologised over the on-air debate and hasn’t done anything else wrong.
“She has a contract and they will have to pay her off if they want her to leave and that will cost them tens of millions. If bosses expect her to go quietly, they have got another thing coming.
“It has formed a rift behind the scenes of the show but Sharon has made it crystal clear that she wants to put this behind her and carry on.”
I say to CBS, call her bluff. Bring the show back with her and the other co-hosts. The tension between them will be good for ratings. If she doesn’t want to come back, then, I would assume, she is in breach of contract, and you can get rid of her for a lot less money.
She is a manager, and she knows contracts. Therefore, she is trying to get as much money for herself. But at what cost?
I think, if they give her the money to leave, then that will be the end of The Talk. I have a feeling with as much money as everyone in Hollywood is losing because of the pandemic, giving her the green will be the final nail in the coffin for The Talk. Then CBS can focus solely on The Drew Barrymore Show that only has one host.
Would Osbourne, the only original left, care that she would be putting all of those people out of work? People she has spent four days a week with for the last 11 years. We shall see As The World Turns. Hey CBS, bring back that soap opera! It is a lot messy.
Talking about messy, I think I understand why Osbourne has been doing all of these interviews that sound like she is begging to be fired. I am assuming she wants them to fire her so she that cash in on all of that money. This story might be another attempt to get CBS to pay her so that they can be free of her, and she can be even richer.
This is just my opinion. I could be wrong. I probably am. But we will see. I am mean, The Talk is already doing two weeks of repeats because of the incident; how many more can they afford to dark for? We should find out by this weekend since the show will be dark all of this week. I am sure they execs would love to be back on the air with new episodes by Monday.
Entertainment Tonight got an exclusive interview with Sharon Osbourne, and she played the victim in last week’s heated debate. The talk show host defended her friend Piers Morgan, who I don’t think should be defended, and her co-hosts called her out on it. Let’s just say it did not go well for her. It went so poorly that the show did one more episode before being forced to go on hiatus so that CBS can reportedly look into claims about Osbourne’s attitude towards people on the staff in front of and behind the camera.
Since that Wednesday episode, several former Talk employees have called her out for hateful things she said about her fellow hosts. Things like saying Holly Robinson Peete was “too ghetto”, calling Julie Chen “slanty eyes” and “wonton”, and Sara Gilbert is a “pussy licker” and “fish eater.” Osbourne denies all of that.
That was just one of the many things she discussed with Kevin Fraiser yesterday on ET. She told him that she feels like she was blindsided by the questions about Morgan. She claims that the executive producers told her that the CBS executives told them they had to ask questions. Since they won’t tell her who, she thinks the investigation is about finding who the executives are.
However, a source told Page Six, her co-host “Elaine Welteroth and her hairstylist complained to HR over Sharon Osbourne’s recent exchange with Sheryl Underwood.
“They said they don’t feel comfortable working in a racially insensitive and hostile environment, and this complaint launched the investigation.”
As we await the results of the investigation, Osbourne also discussed her future with the daytime talk show. “I don’t know whether I want to go back. I don’t know whether I am wanted there,” she said.
Doing interviews like this will not help her standing with the network. As I have been saying, I doubt she will be back. I think CBS wanted an out, and this was it.
While that is what I think, Osbourne also told Frazier what she would want if she were to return to the show. “I wish we could go on and have an adult conversation calmly and work it out, but I don’t know whether we can,” she says. “I don’t know whether it’s gone past that.”
Do you think it has gone past that? Do you want her back on the show?
We might find out by Monday what her status with the show is. As of now, The Talk is expected to resume live shows on Tuesday.

Last Wednesday, the ladies of The Talk had a heated debate over Piers Morgan. Sharon Osbourne defended him on social media, and then she had to defend herself on the daytime talk show for doing so. She played the victim, and her co-hosts were not having it.
On Thursday, the show went on with no mention of what happened the day beforehand. However, there were rumors there was tension behind the scenes, not only with her co-hosts but also with the crew. Therefore, on Sunday, they announced that the show was going to take Monday and Tuesday off to investigate it all.
It appears that they need more time to investigate because they will be in repeats until next Tuesday.
“CBS is committed to a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace across all of our productions. We’re also very mindful of the important concerns expressed and discussions taking place regarding events on The Talk. This includes a process where all voices are heard, claims are investigated and appropriate action is taken where necessary,” CBS said in tbis statement to Deadline. “The show will extend its production hiatus until next Tuesday as we continue to review these issues.”
I still think it will end with Osbourne leaving the show. But anything can happen, and they might give her some time off so things can calm down. We shall see.
The real loser of all of this is Amanda Kloots. They were going to throw her a birthday party on Thursday. I guess that is off.
Ever since The Talk started, they have had five women sitting at the hosting table. As time has gone on, they have lost several hosts. However, they were only missing one of the hosts at a time while they searched for a replacement. Today, that changed.
Back in September, Marie Osmond announced that she was one and done with the CBS daytime talk show. They still have not found someone to fill her high heel shoes. Now, they have two chairs to fill because Eve announced that she will be departing the show before the New Year.
“It’s been a crazy year, obviously for all of us. And I’m so grateful that I’m able to stay here in London and do the show, but I can’t see for me, the foreseeable future of traveling back at the moment, and have decided that at the end of December, this will probably be my last time on the show, in this capacity as a host. This is one of the hardest decisions in the world because I wish I hated one of you, but I don’t,” Eve jokes. “I have had the most beautiful experience. I’ve grown as a woman, as a person. I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again, I never thought that being on a talk show would be this much of an opening of my spirit, soul, personality, everything. Sitting on stage with all you women has been the best thing ever. I truly love you.”
Eve and her husband, Maximillion Cooper, are hoping to expand their family, and add to his four children. That is another reason why she is opting to move on.
Are you going to miss her? Who do you think you should replace her with? I say they should hire Tisha Campbell. She is a big personality who would be perfect to talk with them on a daily basis.

The Daytime Emmys used to air on broadcast television every year. However, when the ratings dropped, and it was eventually moved to online after airing on The CW and cable networks.
This year has been crazy because of the coronavirus pandemic, and it is benefiting from that fact. Come June 26th, the awards show, that highlights soap operas, game shows, kids shows, and talk shows, will be airing on CBS.
Since COVID-19 is still prominent in Los Angeles, everyone will be participating from home. That should be very interesting. The celebrities did not have to dress up for the Kids Choice Awards on Nickelodeon, but daytime television is a much different beast. They are used to being dressed to the nines when they are in front of the cameras. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how they dress up for the big night in their living rooms.
It will also be interesting to see what happens when The Talk wins. How will the hosts handle who gives their speech when, and will they talk over each other? That alone is enough reason for me to watch.
Yet, that is not why I will tuning in. I will be doing so to support this genre. Since a lot of us will be stuck at home on that day, why not watch. What else is there to see?
Nominations will be announced tomorrow on The Talk. I expect The Bold and The Beautiful to get nominated. That will give them two consecutive days of good news because they were picked up until 2022.
