Two of the four So You Think You Can Dance finalists were hospitalized over the weekend for dehydration according to People. Who those two are that has not been revealed.
“Two went in [Saturday] and so there was no more rehearsals, and today [Sunday] all the rehearsals were called off,” ballroom expert and SYTYCD judge Mary Murphy confirmed to PEOPLE at Fox’s 2008 Teen Choice Awards in L.A. on Sunday. “The kids are completely dehydrated – two of them. I’m sure they’re doing a lot of blood work to see if there’s anything else."
Murphy went on to explain that in all fairness, “the other two [dancers] could not rehearse as well, and so hopefully everybody is going to be in the same boat…hopefully everybody will be refreshed by having a full day off.”
Leading up to the finale, the dancers have been putting in 10 to 12 hour rehearsals a day, because “they want it so bad,” says Murphy, adding “so, they keep pushing themselves and pushing themselves and not letting anybody know that, ‘Hey, I’m running on empty,’ and then it catches up on them and then they collapse.”
A source from the show told People that the two dancers were doing better and were expected to rehearse today before they tape the final dance show of the season.
Hopefully all four will be OK for tonight's taping because it would suck to get this far and lose out at the end. What are they doing to the dancers this season? One had to drop out because of broken ribs and now two of them are hospitalized for dehydration.

UPDATE: It was the boys Twitch and Joshua who were rushed to the hospital according to Us Weekly. And the two men aren’t the only injured ones, Mary Murphy sprained her ankle yesterday at TC08.

“She tripped down a shortened stair a few inches from the Jonas Brothers as they were walking in front of the stage at the Gibson Amphitheater,” the source explains. “She was treated by medics, her ankle was wrapped, and she was wheeled out in a wheelchair as the show was ending.”

Imagine how loud Mary Murphy must have screamed when she fell?

So You Think You Can Dance will be back next summer!
August 4th, 2008 under SYTYCD. [ Comments: 1 ]

Well it took Fox long enough to pick up the Emmy nominated So You Think You Can Dance for a 5th season for next summer! Forget American Idol this is my favorite competition show! Hopefully Mia Michaels won’t be back as Judge next season, I can do without her stupid comments and made-up words.
I can’t wait to see who they find next season and what dances they make them do, but until then…Go Joshua!!!

Jessica King out, Comfort back in on SYTYCD
July 14th, 2008 under SYTYCD. [ Comments: 10 ]

Jessica King who narrowly missed elimination on Thursday’s show, suffered an injury and is out of the So You Think You Can Dance competition. She will be replaced by Comfort who was eliminated instead of her. Personally I wish they would have put Thayne in drag and brought him back instead of Comfort, who did not impress me in the different styles of dance and with her own.
BTW it was announced over the weekend that even though both Thayne and Comfort were eliminated before the Top 10 that they will be part of the SYTYCD tour.

Bollywood invades So You Think You Can Dance
July 10th, 2008 under SYTYCD. [ Comments: none ]

OMG! I want more Bollywood in Hollywood on So You Think You Can Dance! In fact I want Bollywood every week!!! Katee and Joshua danced their hearts out in that number and I will be sad to see them split up next week on the show.

Didn’t Mia Michael’s SYTYCD group dance remind you of Wade Robinson’s?

Mia Michaels’

Wade Robinson’s

Is it just me or did Mia Michaels’ group number for season 4’s Top 16 remind you a lot of Wade Robinson’s most brilliant group number for season 2’s Top 10? I mean same movements, starting with people on the stairs, the makeup and even hitting sticks on the floor. Mia Michael’s needs to spend less time over-bleaching her hair and stop acting like she is holier-than-thou when she is one of the Judges and spend more time coming up with original group numbers and not copying the best one in the So You Think You Can Dance’s history. Because let’s be real that wasn’t half as good as Wade Robinson’s!
BTW here is something positive from last week’s SYTYCD. I loved Mark and Chelsie’s dance to Leona Lewis’ Bleeding Love!
