James Gunn has been working on his Superman movie for over a year and a half, and today, he finally began shooting his first film as head of DC Studios.
He wrote, “Overjoyed to be announcing the start of principal photography on SUPERMAN today, February 29, which just so happens to be – coincidentally and unplanned – Superman’s birthday.
“When I finished the first draft of the script, I called the film Superman: Legacy. By the time I locked the final draft, it was clear the title was SUPERMAN. Making our way to you July 2025.”
I think Gunn made the right choice. And I can’t wait to see his take on the Man of Steel!
Before David’s Corenswet’s kryptonite was his kryptonite as Superman, it was strawberries on Moe and Jerryweather. He has come a long since he was 20 in that 2004 webseries.
Ever since we found out that Henry Cavill was out as Superman, we wondered who the new Clark Kent would be. Today, we learned that it is David Corenswet.
Who is he? His most prominent roles are in Ryan Murphy’s The Politician and Hollywood. While we don’t know much about the 29-year-old as of now, I am sure we are going to learn a lot more before Superman: Legacy is released on July 11, 2025.
We might not know much about him, but we know a lot about his Lois Lane. The reporter will be played by The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel herself, Rachel Brosnahan.
I hope James Gunn, who is directing the Superhero movie, knows what he is doing because I am not impressed. Are you?
DC Universe is looking for a new Superman since Henry Cavill is out, and it looks like Jack Black is throwing his cape into the game!
I hope that James Gunn considers him because he would be perfect. Who says Clark Kent has to be tall, dark, and handsome? Have you ever seen a newspaper photographer? They look more like Black than Christopher Reeve or Tom Welling.
After all, the superhero is faster than a speeding bullet. More powerful than a locomotive. Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. So why does he need to be muscular? Let’s change things up and give the role to Black! Plus, it will provide DC with the humor they have been lacking for decades.
