Wow! It never stops! Well, I guess it will stop someday……Hamlet talked about that and said…"It will come!". Yes it will, but until then I will keep on movin’! Lots of great stuff going on….I’m goin’ to Broadway! I’m gonna do Chicago!!! I’ll do it sometime next spring. How about that??? I’ve always wanted to do a Broadway show but never thought it would happen. Wow! I went to NYC a couple of weeks ago and did a "work session" which really was an audition. Something magical happened in that room. My muse came down and covered me with light. What can I say? It was like a dream! And I’m working on a book as well as lots of other stuff that I can’t really talk about yet. Belle gray is doing great….thanks for the support. There are still more promotions to take advantage of, like 15ff everything for the rest of the month….that’s July 17 through the end of July! Just put in the promotion code "Zebra" and you will get the discount!! Go to www.bellegray.com for the coolest stuff. Harry and I are taking the kids to our home in Canada for a month where we will be doing a little dancing under the stars in preparation for a little dancing with the stars. More about that later! All is well here….busy as usual, but I think a few weeks of fishing will do us all a lot of good. Till next time, Love, Lisa

Tori doing Broadway? |
July 17th, 2006 under Aaron/Candy/Tori Spelling, Stage. [ Comments: none ]

I’ve always defended Tori Spelling, I have. I’ve always said she had a flair for comedy, especially physical comedy. But even I am terrified by Variety’s report that the Beverly Hills, 90210 grad is in talks to join the cast of Broadway’s Chicago. What next — Shannen Doherty as Velma opposite Tori’s Roxie? Actually, I may be onto something there….

I wonder if she will be doing it the same time as Usher. I think it is time to bring the curtain down on Chicago because they will take anyone these days.

The multi-platinum recording artist and five-time Grammy winner will take over the role of conniving lawyer Billy Flynn in the long-running musical revival "Chicago," making his Broadway debut, producers Barry and Fran Weissler announced Friday. "I have always admired Broadway actors for their showmanship, dedication and focus that goes into performing live on stage every night," the 27-year-old Usher said in a statement. "Being on Broadway allows you to connect to audiences in a whole new way that’s different from music and movies."Usher opens Aug. 22 in "Chicago" and will appear through Oct. 1.

Twyla Tharp took on the music of Billy Joel and created Movin’ Out, which ran for more than three years on Broadway. Now the director-choreographer has turned to another pop superstar, Bob Dylan, for her next project – The Times They Are A-Changin’.The musical, a coming-of-age story set in a circus, opens Oct. 26 at Broadway’s Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Preview performances begin Sept. 25.The Times They Are A-Changin concerns a young man, played by Michael Arden; his tyrannical father, portrayed by Thom Sesma, and a beautiful circus performer (Caren Lyn Manuel) The musical received mostly encouraging reviews when it premiered last February at San Diego’s Old Globe Theatre. The San Diego Union-Tribune called it an "exciting, flawed, phantasmagoric fable," while the San Francisco Chronicle said it "looks like a success," praising the production’s "dynamic performances and imaginatively acrobatic choreography."Among the Dylan hits in the show – besides the title song – are Blowin’ in the Wind, Mr. Tambourine Man, Lay Lady Lay, Subterranean Homesick Blues and Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right.

Grumpier Old Men: The Musical coming to Broadway?!? |

Composer Neil Berg, lyricist Nick Meglin and playwright Dan Remmes have been tapped by producer Jeff Gardner to convert the 1993 hit movie "Grumpy Old Men" into a Broadway musical, it was announced. Gardner previously stated that he hoped to bring the show to Broadway in spring 2008. An actor whose credits include The Wild Party, Gardner is new to the producing game. He previously produced Night Out in San Diego. Berg is perhaps the best known of the three. He scored the Off-Broadway musical The Prince and the Pauper, which opened in New York at the Lamb’s Theater in 2002. He is also the author of the family-oriented musicals, Fiona: The Mother Goose Musical and Threads. Meglin collaborated with Berg on the musical Tim & Scrooge, which played at the 2005 New York Musical Theater Festival, and will play at Queens Theater-in-the-Park this winter. Humor fans will know him for his 30 years of work as editor of Mad magazine. Playwright Remmes, who will pen the libretto, is the author of Night Out, Three Tables and a musical adaptation of Pinero’s The Enchanted Cottage in collaboration with composer Scott Singer and 1980s pop diva Martha Davis of The Motels. Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau had a late career hit with "Grumpy Old Men," in which they played two crotchety neighbors whose intense dislike for each other only grows when they begin competing for the affections of sexy new neighbor Ann-Margret. The film produced a sequel, "Grumpier Old Men," in 1995.
