LES INCOMPETENTS frontman BILLY BELL’s injuries after being attacked ten days ago (22JUN06) are so severe he is unconscious in an unstable condition in intensive care. After wowing a sell-out crowd at London venue the Barfly, Bell was knocked unconscious by an unidentified assailant after getting off a bus following an argument with another passenger. Police believe he was followed and punched, after which he fell and hit his head on the pavement. On Thursday (29JUN06), 19-year-old Bell underwent a successful five-hour operation to decrease pressure on his brain. Get well Rob Schneider
June 29th, 2006 under Sick Bay. [ Comments: none ]

Funnyman ROB SCHNEIDER reportedly fainted on the set of his new movie Wednesday morning and was taken to a local hospital. The ‘Deuce Bigalow’ and ‘Benchwarmers’ star was shooting his latest comedy ‘Big Stan,’ in Stockton, CA, at the Northern California Women’s Facility when he suddenly collapsed.

The movie follows the attempts of a con man locked up on fraud charges to learn kung fu to fend off other inmates. The prison has been closed since 2003, and temperatures in the area have climbed as high as 110 degrees, which fire officials say can lead to heat stroke. Schneider, 42, has also reportedly been battling the flu.

Jerry Lewis is out of the hospital!!!
June 19th, 2006 under Sick Bay. [ Comments: none ]

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Jerry Lewis was back working the phones for his annual Labor Day telethon as he recuperates on his boat in San Diego after heart surgery, his manager said Monday.

"He’s recovering and already working on the telethon," his longtime manager, Claudia Marghilano, said about Lewis’ benefit for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Lewis, 80, was released from a hospital Saturday after having surgery to insert a stent in an artery following a June 11 heart attack, she said.

He also is taking medication for pneumonia, which often strikes people with pulmonary fibrosis, a lung ailment Lewis has been fighting since 2000.

"He’s had it several times. That’s typical of having this lung illness," Marghilano said. "They put him on antibiotics and he’s recovering. He’s just doing great now."

It wasn’t clear whether Lewis plans to reschedule a live performance at The Orleans hotel-casino in Las Vegas. Lewis postponed the shows set for July 13-16 after his heart attack.

Plans are still going ahead for Lewis to direct a version of his 1963 comedy, The Nutty Professor, as a musical by next year, executive producer Ned McLeod said.

"We’re excited for his recovery," McLeod said. "He’s been joking with folks for several days now and warming up."

Lewis, a Las Vegas-area resident, keeps a boat in San Diego harbor.
