Brendan Fraser was injured on the set of his new movie, Journey 3-D, in Montreal, Canada. The star, 37, was reportedly rehearsing a stunt when he suffered burns to his hand. He was treated by a medic, but his spokesman downplayed the injury, saying he had only a minor injury. He’s expected to be back on set later this week. In the flick, a contemporary version of Jules Verne’s classic book, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Fraser plays a scientist in a lost world searching for his missing brother.

As the young finalists from "American Idols Live" kicked off their U.S. tour Wednesday, word that runner-up Katharine McPhee was sidelined with severe bronchitis and laryngitis disappointed fans. "It bummed me out," concertgoer Gail Johnson said. Manchester’s Verizon Wireless Arena announced McPhee wasn’t performing at the concerts Wednesday and Thursday night; her doctor, Sean Nassari, ordered "total voice rest." McPhee said in a statement that she was disappointed she couldn’t perform, but "I need to follow my doctor’s orders to recuperate and reunite with the rest of the idols." She said her doctor told her she needed to remain silent. "That’s the most difficult part, not talking!" McPhee wrote. McPhee, 22, lost the most recent round of the superpopular singing competition to Taylor Hicks.

The Dalai Lama, Tibet’s exiled spiritual leader, has cancelled a visit to Europe scheduled for July because of minor health concerns, the Office of Tibet in Paris said.
"The Dalai Lama’s doctors told him to rest. It’s nothing serious. He’s just had a very busy schedule this year with lots of trips. He needs to rest," an official told AFP.
"So he had to take the decision to cancel all his commitments and trips scheduled for July to France, Finland and Spain," she said.
The Tibetan Buddhist leader is due on Thursday to celebrate his 71st birthday in the northern Indian hilltop town of Dharamsala.

Korn’s Davis hospitalized? |

Korn frontman Jonathan Davis has had to pull out of his band’s appearance at Download this evening. The nu-metal singer was admitted to an unspecified UK hospital earlier, although there are currently no details on his condition. However, the rest of Korn will still take to Download’s Main Stage at 6.30pm today. The band will play a shortened 30 minute set, with a variety of guests helping out on vocals. This surprise turn of events echoes Metallica’s predicament at this very festival two years ago, when drummer Lars Ulrich suffered a medical emergency at the eleventh hour and was unable to play. Drummers from Slipknot and Slayer filled in for their headline show. And the fact that Davis himself once understudied for a sick James Hetfield has led to onsite speculation that the mystery lead singer may turn out to be the Metallica frontman himself.
