Not healthy to be on a reality show yesterday |
April 2nd, 2008 under American Idol 7, Dancing with the Stars, Sick Bay. [ Comments: none ]

The day started off with Dancing with the Stars' Derek Hough injuring his neck while rehearsing for the show and being taken to the hospital according to E!. Doctors released him with a strained neck and sent him home.
Next was David Cook was sent to the hospital after American Idol's show for experiencing heart palpitations and high blood pressure. According to TMZ he spent a few hours at the hospital, was given some medicine for his high blood pressure and was released. TMZ says the cause of his high blood pressure might be due his brother's cancer setback. Hopefully Cook and his brother will be better soon.
Finally TMZ says that, "Ryan Seacrest ran into a wall and smashed his knee. He was treated with ice packs and gimped through tonight's show." BTW how do you run into a wall. At least Barry Manilow was sleepwalking sort of.
What was it about yesterday, let's hoping for healthier Tuesdays for reality TV.

Roger Ebert announced on his blog that he is back to review movies for the Chicago Sun Times, something he hasn't been able to do since he was diagnosed with cancer. He added on his blog that he is cancer-free and is not requiring any surgery soon.
It will be nice to have him back! Not sure others in Hollywood will feel the same way…joking!

Paul McCartney had an angioplasty |

The Sun is reporting Paul McCartney, who had his share of heart break from Heather Mills, recently got an angioplasty.
A source said: “Paul had been complaining about not feeling well and saw a Harley Street specialist at The London Clinic.
“Tests were carried out and the decision was taken to operate. Paul had the angioplasty in a private hospital. It was all very routine but any work on your heart is a big deal.”
A friend of the legend said: “Luckily Paul is in very good shape. He does regular exercise and is fit.
"He eats well and does not carry any excess weight. He has always been in exceptional health, which is remarkable when you think of the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle he once had.”
Last night Macca’s spokesman said of the hush-hush angioplasty performed in the autumn: “It was a routine medical operation.”
Poor Paul, but he looks like he is doing so much better. Hopefully the stress of going back to court next month with Heather will not be too much for his heart.

Cheryl Burke rushed to the hospital the day before the DWTS tour started |
December 19th, 2007 under Dancing with the Stars, Sick Bay. [ Comments: none ]

Cheryl Burke flew to Seattle with her Dancing with the Stars co-stars to rehearse before opening night, but instead of hitting the dance floor she hit the hospital according to TV Guide.
"Last night, during the run-through, I was cramping and in pain," Burke tells TV Guide exclusively. "I couldn't even stand up straight." Burke, who was rushed to the hospital, was told that it is a possible case of appendicitis. She will fly home to San Francisco on Wednesday for a second opinion from her family doctors. "I hope it doesn't require surgery," she says. If it does, Burke will be off the two-month tour for an undetermined period of time.
"It's a disaster," says pro Louis van Amstel, who is choreographing the tour and has had to rearrange his lineup so many times he's stopped counting. Karina Smirnoff has stepped in to partner with Drew Lachey, on top of dancing at least a half-dozen more numbers with Van Amstel. "Cheryl can't be gone for more than a week," says Smirnoff. "I won't let her!"
The Dancing with the Stars 5 curse continues even after the season ended. I would be afraid to join the show for the sixth season at this rate.
