This past Thursday, everyone was upset that Alex (Justin Chambers) left his wife for Izzy (Katherine Heigl) on Grey’s Anatomy.
The only person, who was OK with it, was Ellen Pompeo. It could be because she knew she was going to hang out with another one of the original interns. Here she is with T.R. Knight, who left the show during season 5.
She wrote this about their reunion, “Old friends are the BEST friends @t.r.knight… but like we aren’t old… we’ve just known each other for a very long time yes yes that’s it….”
Seeing them reunited, reminds how good the show was 11 seasons ago, and why I don’t miss watching it.
Justin Chambers has been with Grey’s Anatomy since day one. However, after 350 episodes, he is saying goodbye to the show that has been his home for 15 years.
He explained why he left to Deadline as, “There’s no good time to say goodbye to a show and character that’s defined so much of my life for the past 15 years.” Then he added, “For some time now, however, I have hoped to diversify my acting roles and career choices. And, as I turn 50 and am blessed with my remarkable, supportive wife and five wonderful children, now is that time.”
He also went on to thank the fans, show creator Shonda Rhimes, the remaining three originals: Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson and James Pickens, and everyone else who has worked on the show.
Sadly, it does not look like he is going to get a proper send-off like Sandra Oh or get killed off like so many others. Instead, when he left to take care of his mom in the 350th episodes, that was his swan song. Which is sad because Alex Karev deserved better than that.
BTW Who is still watching this show? I gave it up so long ago; I cannot remember why I stopped watching. Yet, I do not miss it.
Remember when Ellen Pompeo said that next season was going to be her last on Grey’s Anatomy. Well, she lied. That is because ABC announced today that they picked up the longest-running medical drama for two more seasons. Everyone keeps telling me, you cannot do Grey’s without Meridith Grey. Therefore, I guess, she is not going anywhere until at least after season 17.
Personally, I think they can do it without her. Although, I have only watched one episode this season and it was awful. I do not get why people love it so much. I only watched that episode because it was a crossover with Station 19. That firefighter drama I like, so I am happy it got renewed too. However, I am bummed they are going to do more crossovers with Grey’s. If they do too many, then I might have to quit Station 19.
Oh and ABC picked up How to Get Away with Murder too. That drama should be renamed How Not to Get Cancelled Even Though No One Watches. Too bad they didn’t tell For the People the secret because that is the one Shonda Rhimes show that will not be back next season.
UPDATE 1: ABC is not laughing because they cancelled The Kids Are Alright, Speechless, Splitting Up Together and The Fix. I am really upset about Speechless because it actually had a character with special needs played by an actor who has special needs. I felt that it was helping to normalize Cerebral Palsy, so its cancellation is a huge loss. The Kids Are Alright, like The Cool Kids, was hurt by a really bad pilot. It got better as the season went on.
NBC did not feel bad not picking I Feel Bad that also got hurt its pilot.
UPDATE 2: CBS cancelled Murphy Brown, Life In Pieces and Fam, but they picked up their safety sitcom Man with a Plan. Lethal Weapon was to much of a lethal weapon. ABC renewed Single Parents (I love this show), American Housewife, Fresh Off the Boat, The Rookie and the crappy Bless This Mess.
UPDATE 3: NBC has a blindspot for Blindspot because it will be back for one last season, while Star’s star has dimmed.
Before Susan Kelechi Watson was married to the perfect guy on This Is Us, she was married to someone on Private Practice. She looks the same now as she did when she was 26 in that 2007 episode.

To me,
acts like she is holier than thou and what she says is divine. She also thinks what she does is for a noble cause and does not care whose careers are ruined so she can be the highest paid actress in television. Again, that is how I see her.
The other day she sat down with Jada Pinkett Smith on Red Talk Table and talked about being in an interracial marriage and having biracial children. After 20 minutes talking about that topic, they asked her if she still talks to her former TV husband Patrick Dempsey. She told them, “We haven’t spoken since he’s left the show.” Then she explained, “I have no hard feelings toward him. He’s a wonderful actor, and we made the best TV you can make together. That’s a talented man right there. He did 11 amazing years. Typically, when people leave the show, they need to sort of re-find themselves, who they are without the show because the show takes up so much of your life. You need that time to like figure out who you are without the show. So, we have not spoken, but I will always have a place in my heart for Patrick.”
She has done one show that she never left, how does she know how actors feel when they leave a show? Is that the excuse all the former actors told as to why they have not spoken to her since they left Grey’s Anatomy?
Anyways, that is not the only reason why I posted this story. It was her tweets about other sites only reporting on the Dempsey reveal and not talking about why she did the Facebook show. She wrote to Kathie Lee & Hoda, “Hey here’s a suggestion!! Maybe all of you over there lay off the booze and pay attention to the real conversation that took place ? 🍷🍷🍷😜😜😜.”
Pompeo, you have been in the business long enough to know, you cannot and do not control the narrative. You can do a 30-minute interview with someone and they might take just one quote that fits their narrative. Even if you told them how to cure cancer. It is just how it goes.
I hope she is smart with her residuals because I doubt she will be getting much work when Grey’s ends next season. At least that is what she hinted in an interview.
