Sharknado 2: The Second One is better than the first one!!! |

Tonight at 9p, the much anticipated sequel to Sharknado premieres on Syfy and it actually tops the first one.
It starts out with April (Tara Reid) and Fin (Ian Ziering) on a plane going to NYC when they are attacked by a Sharknado. Eventually Fin safely lands the plane and they travel to Manhattan by ambulance. Once they are in the hospital and April is out of surgery, Fin realizes that a Sharknado is about to munch down on the Big Apple. He calls his sister, who is on Ellis Island with his niece, and tells her to find her way to safety. She tells him that her husband is at the Mets game and he needs to go save them.
So off he goes to fight the sharks at Shea Stadium, and you thought the fans were the ones you needed to be afraid of. (I am Bronx born Mets fan, so I can say that). Once, they strike out the sharks, it is time to get back to Manhattan. But not before they tackle some more sharks on the subway. Once they finally make it back to their destination, they get some help from Taxi driver Judd Hirsch who tries to get them to their where they going. Which is kind of hard because it’s raining sharks.
Now they will do everything to get rid of these flipping sharks with the help from the likes of Matt Lauer, Al Roker, Kelly Ripa, Michael Strahan and whole bunch of other cameos of people who wanted to be part of last year’s biggest phenomenon.
What made Sharknado so perfect is that the movie didn’t take itself seriously. What makes the sequel even better is they somehow found a way to take themselves even less seriously.
So tune into Syfy tonight to watch the movie because you don’t want to be left out of the Sharknado storm of watercooler talk about it at work tomorrow.
There are two drinking games. One for the heavy weights, drink every time you see a shark. The second one if for lighter weights, drink every time you can’t believe they just did that. Both will get you very drunk! Thus the water cooler talk tomorrow.

Is this the best :45 seconds to ever air on Syfy? |
July 24th, 2014 under Conan O'Brien, Syfy. [ Comments: none ]

Forget the Tiffany/Debbie Gibson cat fight in Mega Python vs. Gatoroid, forget Ian Ziering cutting himself out of shark and rescuing Cassie Scerbo from inside of it in Sharknado, forget that scene in Sharknado 2 that tops that one. Conan O’Brien aired his horror movie debut on his TBS show yesterday and I’ve never seen anyone act better than he did in Sharktopus Vs. Pteracuda that debuts on Syfy Saturday, August 2nd. Give him the Oscar, the Emmy, the Golden Globe, the SAG award, the Tony and the Grammy because his work in that film is a masterpiece.
I dare you to watch that and say that is not the best acting you have seen in a long time. Yes, he’s playing himself but James Van Der Beek and Matt Le Blanc have proven that it is not that easy to do, yet the red head makes it seem that way.
So press play and be prepared to have you mind blown. Heads will roll if you don’t like it.
Finally, I just have two words for Conan, “Bravo! Bravo!”
UPDATE: Here is Roger Corman, who directed the classic movie Sharktopus Vs. Pteracuda, critiquing Conan’s role in the cult classic on the TBS show yesterday!

Has Syfy jumped the shark? |

Sharknado 2 is coming to Syfy on July 30th and to celebrate it they are doing a Shark Week. Unlike the one on that other cable channel, this one will include movies that are so farfetched they are awesome.
They are starting the week with Mega Shark vs. Mecha Shark on the 26th. Then they will the end it on August 2nd with Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda. And of course the meat in this sharkwich is Sharknado 2. And after having seen it, I have to tell you they actually tops the first one. Which seems impossible, but somehow they did.
So to answer the question, has Syfy jumped the shark? The answer is a big whale of a no!

Warehouse 13 closes its doors tonight |

Tonight at 9p, Warehouse 13 says goodbye on Syfy, and you don’t want to miss the perfect sendoff for this brilliant show.
Mrs. Frederic lets the team know that Warehouse 13 is moving and the agents have to leave their mark in the book. That means they touch a table and their favorite moment is revealed. That moment will be left in the book for future agents to see. By seeing everyone’s most memorable, we get to know more about them.
Just when you think there is nothing left for us to find out about Artie (Saul Rubinek), Myka (Joanne Kelly), Pete (Eddie McClintock), Jinks (Aaron Ashmore) and Claudia (Allison Scagliotti), be prepared to learn something new about each one of them.
Once they have shared their memory, it is time for them to move on. By them moving on we see their future, the series wraps things up for our characters and you will be happy with each of their conclusions. One you have waited all 5 seasons to happen.
I am so sad to see Warehouse 13 go, but I am happy that ended in a way that we can all be happy with.

Ay, caramba! Warehouse 13 gets trapped in a telenovela! |

Today is Cinco de Mayo and what better way to celebrate it than to watch a Spanish themed episode of Warehouse 13 on Syfy at 9p.
Pete’s (Eddie McClintock) ex-girlfriend, Kelly (Paula Garcés), comes to him seeking help because her grandmother went missing. Last time she spoke to her abuela was the night before and she was watching the last episode of her favorite telenovela. Since she was such a fan of the Spanish Soap Opera, they sent her a broach that turns out to be an artifact. The broach has transported her into the telenovela and now she is part of it.
When Kelly shows the TV she watched it on to Pete and Myka (Joanne Kelly), the two women are also sucked into it. Kelly is the rich bitch and Myka is the maid. Artie (Saul Rubinek) finds an artifact that was worn by Harvey Korman, the straight man on The Carol Burnett Show, that will protect the two men from being characters on the show. But it doesn’t work, and now they are all speaking Spanish (SÃ, hablamos español) and part of the show.
Will they be able to find their way out of there before the show is cancelled again or will they be stuck in there forever? You just have to tune in to find out on Warehouse 13’s best episode ever.
It is episodes like this one that piss me so off that there are two more episodes left after this one. Such a good show, it should be going on and not ending.
