The most anticipated movie of 2011 just got an air date, so set your DVRs on January 29th to record Mega Python vs Gatoroid on Syfy at 9p. That’s right you can finally see Tiffany and Debbie Gibson cat fight and get all wet as they do it.
Here is how Syfy described the future Emmy winner for best TV Movie:
A production of The Asylum, Mega Python Vs Gatoroid takes an up-close-and-personal look at the crisis in the Florida Everglades where invasive Burmese pythons are threatening the indigenous alligator population. Gibson portrays a fanatical animal rights advocate who spends her evenings “liberating†illegally imported exotic snakes from pet stores and setting them free in the Everglades, where the pythons grow and thrive.
Tiffany plays an over-zealous park ranger worried about the growing ecological damage. To save her beloved alligators, she’s willing to employ dubious methods, overdosing them with steroids so they grow mega, setting off a war between the species – and putting her on a collision course with Gibson.
Seriously if this doesn’t get an Emmy nom next year, I won’t watch it. What more do you need for the perfect movie?
BTW another breakthrough for this movie is that it is the first time a woman has directed a Syfy original Saturday night movie. So hats off to Mary Lambert for directing the ’80s pop icons who will finally battle it out. Something we have been waiting 20 years to see!
At this point I am Team Tiffany, but I loved Debbie Gibson’s perfume Electric Dreams. What team are you on?
Tonight on Chiller at 8p they debuting Chiller 13: The Decade’s Scariest Movie Moments. In the 90 minute special they look back at 13 of the scariest movies of the last 10 years and directors, actors and producers talk about what made them so scary. Some of the movies included at The Mist, The Ring, Saw, Hostel and Final Destination, can you guess which is the scariest of them all? Tune in tonight to find out. If you are a horror movie fan, this special is one you can’t miss.
Tonight on Syfy at 9p Ice Quake is going to premiere and Christmas will never be the same for one family. It is Christmas and Brendan Fehr wants to spend the holiday with his family, but he gets called in to work when his Alaskan town is being shaken by a ice quake. When it seems that it is one time event he decides to take his family to mountains to celebrate the holiday alone. Well the ice quakes are back and now he has to save his family and their dog before the earth swallows them whole. But it isn’t only his family that are in danger because once they find out what is calling all of these ice quake, they find out the world is in danger. Will they be able to stop it before it is too late? Tune in to Syfy at 9p to find out.
Even the busy scientists of Eureka make time to celebrate Christmas tonight on Syfy at 9p. When a snow storm traps everyone in Eureka, Jack tells the children of the town another time everyone was trapped there for a completely different reason. Let’s just say the biggest day of the year almost became their smallest…as in they all almost became the size of the Ken and Barbie dolls that normal kids want to unwrap on December 25th. Will they be able to figure out why they are shrinking before the once tiny dolls become lifesize or will they remain small forever?
Besides looking back at the past they have to figure out who is currently their Secret Santa who is picking out the perfect girt for everyone. Let’s just say the answer is surprising, but what isn’t a surprise is how good the Yule Tide episode is!
Then at 10p on Syfy it is Christmas time and even the staff of Warehouse 13 gets to celebrate it. Well that is until a workaholic father is being terrorized by Santa. When the team hears what is happening to him, Pete and Myka are called in to investigate if it is Chris Kringle or an artifact. They better figure it out fast before the father becomes a ghost of Christmas Past.
Meanwhile back at Warehouse 13 Claudia wants to make the first holiday she isn’t spending alone special, so she does something wonderful for Artie…she gets his father, played by Judd Hirsch, to come and visit his son. If ever there was perfect casting of a non-father and son to actually play the roles, it is these two.
So tune in to Syfy tonight at 10p because even the Sci-Fi/Horror world can celebrate Christmas merrily!
In one of the weirdest television show crossovers since Scooby Do and the Harlem Globetrotters or Flintstones and Bewitched, tonight The Real Housewives of Atlanta are going to guest star on Syfy’s Ghost Hunters at 9p. Now I wish I could say it is bad or weird to have Kim Zolciak, NeNe Leakes, and Sheree Whitfield on the show but I can’t because they were really impressive as they investigated Rhodes Hall in Atlanta. I would’ve been scared sh!tless, but they weren’t and were like pros.
What I also liked about this episode (unlike one of the other ghost investigating shows I watch on another channel), they actually debunk stuff that seems like it is paranormal but it isn’t. I won’t say which is coincidence and which is ghostly, but I will say the answers will surprise you. So tune into a surprisingly awesome television crossover tonight on Syfy at 9p.
