USA and Syfy go pick up crazy, but sadly for one show its the final season
August 11th, 2011 under Syfy, USA Network. [ Comments: none ]

Syfy picked up Warehouse 13 for a fourth season and is giving Eureka one extra episode to say goodbye, and USA is having Suits suit up for a second season.
Sadly the news isn’t all good because In Plain Sight will no longer be in out sight after its 5th season. The decision to end In Plain Sight really boggles me. In the press release the network sent out today they said is doing better in the ratings than it was last season. So why cancel a show that is doing well? But that is me and that is why I am viewer and not running a network.
I wouldn’t be surprised if in the final episodes of the show, Mary keeps her baby and hooks up with Marshall. At least she better hook up with Marshall because they totally deserve to be together. Maybe after this show Mary McCormack and Frederick Weller could do a sitcom together because his dry humor is perfect for comedy!
While I am taking the news very hard, Mary McCormack Tweeted this about the final of the show, she said “We’re excited for season five! That’s a long life for a show and I’ve loved every minute of it.”
One more little bit of news from USA, Psych will be back on October 12th with this tubular list of guest of stars, Danny Glover, Kristy Swanson, Corey Feldman, Joey McIntyre, Malcolm McDowell, Jason Priestley, John Rhys Davies, Wade Boggs, Molly Ringwald and WWE Superstar The Miz.

Syfy makes a dumb decision and cancels Eureka
August 8th, 2011 under Syfy. [ Comments: 1 ]

Last week Syfy said that it picked up a 6 episode 6th season of Eureka and denied that it would be its last one. Well today the network not only took that statement back, they also pulled their order for the 6th season and cancelled the show. The network released a statement to EW that says, “After painstaking consideration, we have had to make the difficult business decision to not order a season six of Eureka. But Eureka is not over yet. There is a new holiday episode this December and 12 stellar episodes set to debut next year, marking its fifth season and six memorable years on Syfy. The 2012 episodes are some of the best we’ve seen, and will bring this great series to a satisfying end. We are very grateful to Bruce Miller and Jaime Paglia, their team of incredible writers, and an amazing cast and crew who have consistently delivered a series we continue to be very proud of. We thank the fans for their support of this show and know they will enjoy its final season in 2012.“
As a fan of the show, I am saddened by Syfy’s decision and I think it is a dumb one. Eureka deserves a proper goodbye and I really wish that Syfy considers giving the show a two hour goodbye Saturday film! Syfy please be smart and give the show a proper send off.

UPDATE: Here is cast reaction to the sad news:
Colin Ferguson: Thanks for the outpouring of affection everyone. YOU made the show. YOU made it special. YOU made it worth being part of. Thank you so much

Neil Grayston: Thanks for the huge support regarding #Eureka’s cancellation everyone! We love you guys, and we’ve still got 13 episodes for you next year! Again, can’t thank you guys enough for putting up with our wacky hijinks all these years. You’re the bestest!

Salli Richardson
: I am still in shock. I will return tomorrow. going to bed. Thanks guys I love you all

Felicia Day: At any rate, it’s been very fun to be on the show! Hope they can end the story with closure for the fans before the series ends. 🙂 #Eureka

Wil Wheaton: It’s been one of the greatest joys of my life to work on #Eureka. I’ve made new friends for life, and I’m so proud of the stories we’ve told

Niall Matter: The cast and crew of #Eureka just gathered for a heartfelt send off from @jaimepaglia. We all enjoyed making this show for you… Thank you!

Jamie Paglia (EP/creator): …All my thanks to our amazing cast, crew and creative team for their phenomenal work on these 76 episodes of #Eureka. You’re the best.
UPDATE 2: Neil Grayston had the best Tweet about what he will do next now that he will no longer be playing Fargo on Eureka. He said, “Also, now I can pursue my dream of dressing up like the Hamburglar and officiating pet weddings at select dog friendly McDonald’s locations.” I would pay him on Tuesday for a Hamburglar today!

Eureka, Eureka is not ending…just yet!!
August 4th, 2011 under Syfy. [ Comments: none ]

It was reported on Deadline that Eureka will be back for a six episode final season, but Syfy is saying that is not the case….just yet. Mark Stern, President of Original Content for Syfy said, “Bruce Miller and Jaime Paglia have brought a creative vitality to Eureka that has kept it fresh and inventive. Although we do not have a commitment beyond six episodes for the sixth season, we are hopeful that this will not be the end of the franchise.” And the fans of Eureka also do not want this to be the end of the series. So to help this smart town survive their own calamities, please watch it every Monday at 8p on Syfy. This is one of the few shows that is just as witty now as it when it started.

UPDATE: Neil Grayston aka Fargo Tweeted an update from the set about today’s developments. He said, “Whoa whoa whoa, don’t panic people, we’ll still have at least 19 more episodes to show you after season 4.5 is done. We’re not off the air.” He then added, “Best thing to do is wait for official word from the people who do the official word makings. Cuz they are the makers of the officials words.” So not only do we have to watch the rest of season 4 on Monday’s at 8p, we also have to watch it when it is back for a 5th season whenever that will be! So watch it!!!

Tonight at 8p on Syfy Wil Wheaton and Stan Lee guest star as two of Eureka‘s scientists who are competing to take part in the Astraeus space mission to Titan. When Fargo shoots Wil down everyone thinks he is plotting a revenge against him.
And if it is what Jo and Carter are seeing with their new eye implants that let them see what it is going to happen before it happens, it is going to be one act of revenge no one will want to see happen because it will be the end of Eureka.
Tune in for this fast paced episode that will keep you on the edge of your seat for the whole hour. Then after Eureka make sure to watch as Lindsay Wagner returns to Warehouse 13 at 9p. And cap off the evening with the hot new show everyone is talking about Alphas.
