Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge
March 25th, 2014 under Syfy. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 10p, Jim Henson’s Creature Shop is looking for a new employee and they went to Syfy to help them find that employee.
Each week 10 creature designers will compete on Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge and by the end of the competition only one of them will be offered a job of a lifetime. We will watch the 10 competitors create creatures that you could see in a Jim Henson like movie. Tonight they will have to bring a fish to life and what they come up with is something you might not want to see in your fishtank, but you will be happy you saw it on this show.
There is something about this show that reminds me of my childhood and because of that I love Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge. To see what it is like to create these lifesize puppets is so cool and something you don’t ever get to see happen. So tune into tonight and every Tuesday at 10p for a competition show unlike any mother.

Dorian is reviewed on Almost Human and Being Human changes things up!
March 3rd, 2014 under Fox, Syfy. [ Comments: 1 ]

Tonight at 8p it is the season finale of Almost Human and that means it is time to evaluate Dorian’s (Michael Ealy) performance on the job. Will they decide to keep the decommissioned DRN on the force or will he be sent back to his pod?
Before we find out his fate, Kennex (Karl Urban) and him go on a case. The two of them have to look into a serial killer, who is going after homeless teens. It is Dorian’s computer that helps them solve the case, but is that enough to keep him working as a cop?
So tune in not only to find out, but also to show Fox we want this show to come back for a second season. Seriously, this show, Bones and Sleepy Hollow are Fox’s best dramas. Since the other two have already been picked up for another season, why can’t this show join the pack?

Tonight at 9p on Syfy’s Being Human, Sally (Meaghan Rath) is transported back to the day that she died. Can she change what happened to her on that day and save herself, or will she watch herself die again?
Since you find out by the first commercial what happens, I’ll tell you now that present day Sally enters her past self and survives. So if she is alive and not dead, what happens? Well you just have to tune in to find out. If you are a fan of the show, you are going to love what they do with this story over the next few episodes. And be even more pissed that the show was cancelled because this was a brilliant well played plot twist.

Syfy puts a stake through Being Human’s heart
February 25th, 2014 under Syfy. [ Comments: 1 ]

Syfy announced today that they cancelled Being Human and the season 4 finale on April 7th will actually be the series one. Yet another great Syfy series that is cancelled way before its time. Both Warehouse 13 and Eureka had a few more seasons in them, but Syfy pulled the plug on them early to save a few bucks. Just like they are doing with Being Human.
I am sorry, shows like Defiance and Helix are not doing it for me. I gave up on Lost Girl and I’m about to do the same with Bitten. So soon the only show I will be left watching on Syfy will be Haven and I am sure they will cancel that one after its extended season. That is just how they do things over there.
Is anyone else pissed by Syfy cancelling good shows before their time and keeping the bad ones on the air? And don’t get me started on all their crappy reality shows. They actually have one where a woman tried to get the spirit of Jack the Ripper to come out by telling him if he does she won’t charge him for sex. I didn’t have to ask my friends, who are into the paranormal, if that is bad idea, common sense will tell you that.
Seriously Syfy you are also doing something wrong in your reality department if TBS has a better show for nerds (Revenge of the Nerds) than anything you have currently have on your air. Just saying!
Sorry Syfy just pissed me off, but I am starting to feel better now that I have vented.

The Monkey’s Paw will leave you wishing for no nightmares!
January 24th, 2014 under Syfy. [ Comments: 1 ]

The Monkey’s Paw debuts on Chiller tonight at 9p and there is a reason why the network’s slogan is “Scary Good”. I sincerely don’t know the last time I saw a horror movie that terrified me as much as this one. The death scenes are so scary good that I am not sure how I am going to sleep tonight.
Jake Tilton (C.J. Thomason) is struggling to make ends meet; so when he is given a monkey’s paw that will grant him three wishes, he accepts it. Not believing in the power of it, he wishes for a car that is sitting outside. When he goes to look at the car, he sees the keys inside and takes it for a ride. While driving around with his BFF, Tony Cobb (Stephen Lang), he sees a alligator in the road and swerves to hit it. He winds up hitting a tree and killing Tony, who went through the windshield. He decides to use the paw to bring back his best friend, but Tony is not the same. Tony came back to life, but his soul didn’t return. So now he is going on a murderous rampage and there is no way to stop him. Will Jake find a solution to his problem before it is too late or will the Monkey’s Paw win this fight?
You will just have to tune in for a movie that is as much horrifying as it is thrilling.

Being Human and Bitten will make you howl at the moon!
January 13th, 2014 under Syfy. [ Comments: none ]

Being Human is back on Syfy tonight at 9p after last year’s season finale and it’s just as intense as that last episode. Sally (Meaghan Rath) is trapped in a different dimension with Donna and she has no way out. Josh (Sam Huntington) is trapped by his wolf and all he wants to do is die to end the curse. Aiden (Sam Witwer) and Nora (Kristen Hager) have been living in the woods to help Josh keep his humanity, but with each day that passes it is getting harder and harder to do.
Eventually Sally will be reunited with her friends, and she thinks she can help Josh. But can she really? Aiden will be reunited with someone from his past, and that person will change everything and is hiding a secret from him that could destroy him. Nora just wants her husband back, but she should be careful what she wishes for because you can’t always get you want.
I had no idea where Being Human was going to go after the season finale and i really love what they are doing with the new season in the 2 episodes that I have seen thus far. This show really keeps you guessing and that is what I love most about it.

Then at 10p, Bitten takes a huge bite of the Syfy lineup and you will be smitten with bitten.
Elena Michaels (Laura Vandervoort), seems to have everything. She is a talented photographer with a gorgeous boyfriend, but there is a secret she hasn’t told him. She is a werewolf and as much as she tries to suppress it, it keeps coming to surface and risking everything in her life.
She is the only female werewolf because women normally are not strong enough to survive being bitten. Up until about a year ago she lived with other werewolves. When they made her do something that took what little of her humanity away is left, she walked away from them and moved to the city.
But when one of her kind starts killing humans, she is called home. Now she has to lie to everyone from her new life to go back to her old one.
How long will she be able to do that? Which life will she choose? We will have to tune each week for a show that does for werewolves what The Vampire Diaries does for Vampires and makes them enjoyable to watch again.
BTW if you think about Laura Vandervoort is living a Sci-Fi person’s dream. She’s played Supergirl, an alien on V and now a werewolf on Bitten, what else is there left for her do in the genre?
