I will never watch the Shake Weight ad the same way!
April 18th, 2010 under Saturday Night Live. [ Comments: 1 ]

Saturday Night Live did something funny yesterday and it was at the expense of the Shake Weight informercial. Granted I am surprised it took so long for someone to make fun of it in the same way they did. Make sure to watch it all the way through because the ending is the funniest part and rip-off of a Family Guy episode.

Zach Galifianakis dumps the beard
March 8th, 2010 under Saturday Night Live, Zach Galifianakis. [ Comments: none ]

Zach Galifianakis was on Saturday Night Live and The Hangover star shaved off his beard for a bit during the show. I don’t think I have ever seen him without his trademarked beard and I am bummed we didn’t get to see his clean shaven without the wig on. I want to see if he was cute under all of that hair.
BTW I can’t believe how fast he was able to shave his facial hair off.

A Saturday Night Live Presidential reunion!
March 3rd, 2010 under Saturday Night Live. [ Comments: 1 ]

One of the things that has been continually funny for Saturday Night Live is how well the comedians on the show mock the Presidents and one of the alumni of the show who has now crossed over to the internets held a reunion of the past and current SNL Presidents on FunnyOrDie.com. Will Ferrell put on his George W Bush suit and invited Chevy Chase (Gerald Ford), Dan Aykroyd (Jimmy Carter), Dana Carvey (George H. W. Bush), Fred Armisen (Barack Obama), Darrell Hammond (Bill Clinton) and non-SNL alum Jim Carrey (Ronald Reagan) to do the same and they did. All of this was under the direction of Opie Cunnigham aka Ron Howard, who earned that perfect nickname on SNL 30 years ago!
So why did Will do this? Well it wasn’t to prove that SNL can be funny if it is on the net instead of on TV, but because FOD teamed with the Americans for Financial Reform coalition to urge financial reform in Congress including an independent Consumer Financial Protection Agency that will stand up for the average consumer. Did they get the message across to you? I am not sure if they did, but I do know they had me laughing and wishing that SNL was funny as that five minute webisode.
BTW Funny Or Die is now on HBO and you know what it is over 30% funny!

What a waste of Madonna
October 4th, 2009 under Lady Gaga, Madonna, Saturday Night Live. [ Comments: none ]

Once again we were reminded just how funny Saturday Night Live is because yesterday Madonna joined Lady Gaga in a sketch that should’ve been funny, but wasn’t. It makes me long for the days when she did the classic Coffee Talk with Babs and Roseanne. That is when the show was funny.

Jenny Slate won’t be f*cking fired from SNL!
September 28th, 2009 under Saturday Night Live. [ Comments: 2 ]

An NBC spokesperson told The NY Daily News that Jenny Slate will not be fired for saying f*cking on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live! Although the NBC execs had a big meeting after the show because of the no-no, she is safe for now. Personally I don’t get what the big deal is, all she said was f*cking what is so f*cking with that. It is just and adjective. Oy!
BTW is anyone else missing Studio 60 with all that went down with her because she said the F-bomb on the show?
