Tawny Kitean begins her six month stay in rehab
December 18th, 2006 under Rehab. [ Comments: none ]

Actress Tawny Kitaen, best known as the star of a series of 1980s heavy metal videos, has entered a drug rehabilitation program to resolve cocaine possession charges, her lawyer said on Monday. Kitaen, 45, was facing a possible three years in prison on the felony charge of possessing 15 grams of cocaine but entered a six-month drug rehab program last week, lawyer Blair Berk told reporters. Kitaen appeared in Orange County Superior Court last week, ahead of Monday’s scheduled arraignment, and won a "deferred entry of judgment," Berk said. If she fails to comply with the terms of agreement she could be automatically convicted. Prosecutors have said police were summoned in May to the home Kitaen shares with her two children in San Juan Capistrano, California, and discovered 15 grams of cocaine.

Six months? Dang that is a long time!
Maybe Pete Doherty could get clean if he did 6 months in rehab like her as compared to six days.

December 4th, 2006 under Keith & Nicole Urban, Rehab. [ Comments: none ]

Country singer Keith Urban is out of rehab and has reunited with his wife of five months, actress Nicole Kidman, Us reports exclusively. The couple had brunch on Sunday at the Polo Lounge in Los Angeles. They were last seen together on November 12, outside of the Betty Ford Center in Palm Springs, where Urban was being treated for alcohol abuse. Urban had been in the in-patient rehabilitation program since October 19 and was expected to stay there for 35-40 days. Urban’s rep said the singer is "still undergoing treatment." Kidman met Urban at a Hollywood event honoring Australians in January 2005. They were married on Sunday, June 25, 2006, at the Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel in the grounds of St Patrick’s Estate, in Sydney. They are both 39. This was not Urban’s first stint in rehab. In 1998, the singer checked into the Cumberland Heights treatment center in Nashville, Tennessee, seeking treatment for cocaine and alcohol addiction.

Heath Ledger checked into rehab for CANDY
November 11th, 2006 under Heath Ledger/ Michelle Williams, Rehab. [ Comments: none ]

HEATH LEDGER checked himself into an Australian rehab facility and learned how to shoot up heroin from a junkie – to perfect his latest movie role. The Aussie actor plays a drug addict in new movie CANDY, but he had no idea how to portray his sick character on the big screen, because he has never stuck a needle in his arm. So he called on experts at the Narcotics Users Association of Australia, who hooked him up with a junkie and a fake arm. The BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN star explains, "I went to this centre in Australia, called NUAA and met a gentleman who has been using, and still is, for the last 20 years. "He took us into a board room and opened what looked like a rifle case and inside was a prosthetic arm, which was designed for training purposes; it was designed to train young drug addicts how to find their veins. "It was a fully functional arm, the veins were fully functional. It would attach to the shoulder with two tubes that you could attach to blood bags and it would pump blood through the arm and you could find a vein and, when you found the vein, he showed us the angles in which to go in at (with a needle). "You could draw back even and take blood out of the arm and then push through. He taught us how to tie the tourniquets to pump up the vein. We also had someone on set who could take us step by step through the stages of drying out. "They would say, ‘OK, now you’re in a cold sweat, in this next scene your stomach feels like it’s twisting up into a knot, your head aches, you’re parched.’" Ledger, who also stayed out of the sun and fasted to perfect the role of a pale, starving junkie, admits he had no longing to try hard drugs before making Candy, and now he’ll never go near them. He adds, "I do think that drugs and alcohol have been obviously glorified and mythologised. We’ve kind of connected that with what it takes to create something, which is anything from the truth. Creation comes from your mind and it’s hard to create when you’re phased and drugged out. "I’m sure drugs and alcohol would inspire new thoughts but it’s certainly not something that I use as a tool or a mechanism to create."

Wow, it seems like he will not go down the same road as other actors who got into drugs for their roles…ie River Phoenix and Robert Downey Jr.?

Robin Williams checks out of rehab and checks into a clinic
September 24th, 2006 under Rehab, Robin Williams. [ Comments: none ]

A couple of months ago, we reported that, having reached crisis point with both his alcohol addiction and his marriage, comedian-turned-actor Robin Williams had checked into rehab. Now we hear he’s checked himself out. But he’s not going home. Williams packed himself of to Oregon’s Hazelden Springbrook Clinic for 30 days of treatment when wife Marsha gave him a “get help or I’m leaving” ultimatum. Williams had been sober for more than 20 years but fell off the wagon a couple of years ago while making The Big White. Having seen it ourselves, we’d probably turn to drink, too. After 30 days of treatment, he decided he needed another 30 days.

I hope he gets the help he needs! He is one of my favorite actors and can not wait to see him in his next movie!

Rehabed singers unite
August 23rd, 2006 under Pete Doherty/Kate Moss, Rehab. [ Comments: none ]

WHEN I heard PETE DOHERTY, JUSTIN HAWKINS and TOM CHAPLIN were all in The Priory, I joked that they should form a supergroup. And in a quirk of showbiz fate, my prediction has come true.Keane singer Tom, Darkness frontman Justin and Babyshambles’ Pete have struck up a close relationship during their treatment at the north London rehab clinic. After getting to know each other in group therapy classes, the troubled trio have turned to writing music in a bid to help them cope with their woes.An insider said: “Justin checked in to rehab first, followed by Tom and Pete not long after. “They all vaguely knew each other before but when they found themselves meeting in difficult circumstances it somehow made them click. Being in rehab is strange at the best of times. But when you find yourself in there with other famous faces it’s even more odd. “Tom was the first to play the piano in one session for some of the patients. After that Pete and Justin chipped in and suggested they write some music. “Pete and Justin have struck up a particularly strong friendship and Pete has invited Justin to perform with Babyshambles this weekend.” I have to point out the dramatic U-turn in Justin’s friendship with Pete. Only last year the falsetto warbler said he thought Pete was “a waste of skin”. His stint in the clinic must have damaged his memory. I revealed on Tuesday that posh rocker Tom was getting treatment for cocaine addiction. I’m sure his record label will start worrying when they hear he has Potty Pete for company in rehab. Justin, Tom and Pete — or Sobertramp as I have christened them — have been lazing around on the lawn discussing their addictions over cups of tea. It’s Doherty’s eighth, ahem, crack at cleaning up — his third spell in The Priory. He was ordered in last week as a condition of his bail after being caught in possession of almost every Class A under the sun.

The Sun

Funny part I thought the same thing when I heard all three were in rehab, just did not know if they were in the same rehab. Can you imagine if they released an album?
