Paris Hilton cancelled an appearance at next week’s Billboard Music Awards because she didn’t like jokes written for her, according to a spokesman. "It is my understanding that some satirical references ridiculed some of her peers," her spokesman, Elliot Mintz, said in a statement. "Paris did not want to say anything that could appear hurtful or embarrassing about people she knows." Mintz said Hilton received a script Friday that contained material she found "objectionable." Representatives for Hilton and the awards show could not come to an agreement about the script’s content so she decided to scrap the appearance, he said. A call to Billboard was not returned early Saturday. The Billboard Awards will be handed out Monday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The show will air live on Fox.

Britney Spears is staging a mock wedding to Paris Hilton at her 25th birthday party. The pop singer has written some comedy vows for the ceremony which will celebrate her new-found friendship with the Simple Life star. One of Britney’s lines apparently contains a thinly-veiled jibe at estranged husband Kevin Federline: "We don’t need men to take away our pay cheques and self-respect." A source told the Daily Star: "They have been inseparable since Brit’s split. So their chums have started calling Paris her new husband. Paris has even been playing daddy with Britney’s kids. The birthday bash is a celebration of their new friendship and Brit’s impending divorce. They share everything."

The ad above aired during Standoff on Tuesday night after People announced the two were hosting the show. So I didn’t think much of it until yesterday when I was watching Bones and they ran another ad still saying that they are hosting the show. Fox denies that there is a host, but then why are they advertising that Britney Spears and Paris Hilton are hosting? I am so confused?
BTW sorry about the voiceover at the beginning and end of the ad, it was the only one I could find on YouTube.

THEY’VE been living in each other’s pockets for weeks, however BRITNEY SPEARS and PARIS HILTON have now taken their friendship to a new level. Rumours circulating around Tinseltown say hotel heiress Paris has been giving her new best pal POLE DANCING lessons. A source said: "Paris took Britney upstairs in her house where she fitted her in a blue tu-tu, and then Paris put on a matching tu-tu. "They then went downstairs and danced at Paris’s in-house stripper pole." Meanwhile, it has also surfaced that rap star PHARRELL WILLIAMS is furious with Britney for snubbing a music meeting with him. The soon-to-be divorced pop star was supposed to hook up with the NEPTUNES producer yesterday to discuss forthcoming projects. A Miami source said: "Pharrell takes this as a diss. "It’s bad. Pharrell even had a basket of gourmet cupcaes sent to the Marlin Recording Studio where they were to work on the album together!" Britney was also meant to be in Miami last weekend to work with producer SCOTT STORCH, but she cancelled because she said son SEAN PRESTON had an ear infection.

After nearly a week of clubbing, partying and shopping in LA with new BFF, Paris Hilton, Us has learned exclusively that Britney Spears has abruptly pulled out of co-hosting with the heiress on the Fox Billboard Music Awards, scheduled to air live on December 4. "She pulled out," confirms a source with Fox. "She didn’t give a reason." The source tells Us that Hilton is still a possible host despite losing Spears as a sidekick. Other sources confirm that as recent as this morning, agents for both Hilton and Spears were hashing out the final terms of the contract, but at 5pm today, Spears had backed out of negotiations. "We really don’t know the reason. But we’re disappointed she backed out." says a Fox source. The source says the show may go on with Hilton as solo host, or it may feature comedian (and Fox sitcom star) Brad Garrett, given he’s at the top of the show producer’s wish list. At press time, neither Hilton or Spears’ reps were available for comment.
