Remember Nancy’s house in A Nightmare on Elm Street? Well the 2 story, 3 bedroom house with a guest home is for sale and you can own it for a mere $2.1 million. The infamous Hollywood residence is listed on Redfin and you can see the interior looks absolutely nothing like it did in the 1984 movie, but that isn’t stopping me from wanting to own it. So does anyone have $2.1 million I can borrow knowing I have no intention of paying you back?
On November 29, 1981 Natalie Wood died in what was then ruled as accident. Now 31 years later, an updated look at the coroner’s report is questioning those findings. According to CBS This Morning there is new findings from the original report that might change the case. CBS News Senior Correspondent John Miller says that coroner’s report now says that they found bruising on her wrists, knees and ankles and that is more consistent with assault or a struggle as compared to trying to reattach a dingy to the boat.
It is still unsure how she died, but evidence over the last few years is making a lot of people wonder if she died the way the coroner said that she did three decades ago. Does this mean that one of Hollywood’s biggest mysteries might be solved? Does that mean that woman who was afraid of water since she was a child, did not really fall in? Was their a really a fight between her husband Robert Wagner and her that night as it has long been rumored? Is there truth to Dennis Davern, the boat captain’s, account of what happened that night? We will just have to wait to find out, but it appears we are getting closer to an answer of some kind.
The Hollywood Sign is turning 90 years old next year and to celebrate her birthday the City of LA gave her a much needed a makeover! According to KABC over the last 9 weeks workers scraped off at most 10 coats of paint on the ageing landmark, then they power washed her before applying 100 gallons of primer and paint. How much did this beautification cost? It was less than most celebs pay to make themselves look young. It cost $175,000 and Sherwin-Williams covered $140,000 of that by donating the paint and primer.
Just to understand how much of a job this was, 10 workers would have to go up and down the hill with paint and primer to get to the sign and each letter stand 45′ tall once they started working on her. You better not have a fear of heights when you apply for this job.
I personally want to thank all of the workers who worked tiredlessly on making The Hollywood Sign look as stunning as she did back in 1923 when her full body read Hollywoodland!
Today is Patty Duke’s 65th birthday and to celebrate the momentous occasion she signed up for social security in her PJs online. It looks like it was a miracle for The Miracle Worker who admitted on the video that she is not the best with computers. Even though she is not the most computer literate, with the help of her husband she was able to get it done. Once she was finished, she got emotional that something she was talking about for a while was finally done.
We all get older and I love that she is doing it with such grace and shared that special moment with us. We should celebrate huge birthdays as we get older like that and not run from them. Says the girl who is turning 21 again…
But seriously huge congrats to the amazing actress who inspired me so much with her book Call Me Anna and everything she has accomplished. Happy Birthday Anna!
Side note that book made me fall in love with her ex-husband John Astin for some weird reason. And right after I read it, I actually met Gomez and he was even more charming and sexier in person! I just love that whole family John Astin, Patty Duke and their two gorgeous sons Sean Astin and Mackenzie Astin! Additional note, I have met all of them except her and I sincerely hope to do that some day.
On November 29, 1981 Natalie Wood, her husband Robert Wagner and their friend Christopher Walken took a boat ride to Catalina and had a few drinks. Natalie and her husband reportedly got in an argument on the boat and at one point she left the two men and that was the last time she was seen alive by the two men. It has been reported when Wagner went to bed that night she was not there. That’s because the beautiful actress was dead, she had somehow fallen overboard. The coroner at the time ruled her death accidental, but people have believed that her husband was in some way involved with her no longer be hearing her. Something he has denied numerous times.
Now days short of the 30 year anniversary, a book is about the be released that is co-authored by Dennis Davern, who was the captain of the boat that they were on that fateful night. In that book he tells the story of what he remembers that happened that night and it is not what he originally said. His co-author Marti Rulli spoke with TMZ and she says the captain said there was a very heated argument between the husband and the wife and at one point Wagner smashed a wine bottle against the table and accused Walken of wanting to sleep Natalie. She then says the captain said, “At that point, Walken returned to his cabin and Natalie and Robert went to their state room. According to the Captain, he heard a loud argument between the couple and thumping sounds, and eventually silence.” The captain shortly afterwards went to the deck and was told Natalie was missing. He claims that he wanted to call the Coast Guard, but was told by Wagner not to because he wanted to keep it quiet. Hours later the call was made, but it was too late.
Rulli tells TMZ that captain was not honest with authorities 30 years ago because of what Wagner and his lawyers told him to say. Now the captain is telling his story and the LA Sheriff’s office is listening. They are reopening one of Hollywood’s most notorious deaths and it will be interesting to see what they find out. Will they finally really find out what happened that night? Or will it remain a mystery as it has done since 1981.
Robert Wagner has time and time again said it was accident issued this statement to TMZ about this latest development. He said, “Although no one in the Wagner family has heard from the LA County Sheriff’s department about this matter, they fully support the efforts of the LA County Sheriff’s Dept.” The statement continues, “[The Wagners] trust they will evaluate whether any new information relating to the death of Natalie Wood Wagner is valid, and that it comes from a credible source or sources other than those simply trying to profit from the 30 year anniversary of her tragic death.”
As someone who is really interested in stories of that night, I am curious to find out what they will learn. I have seen a few documentaries of that night and I have been wondering if there was any truth to them, soon we will learn a little more.
