RIP Sherman Hemsley
July 24th, 2012 under Obits. [ Comments: none ]

Sherman Hemsley passed away today at the age of 74 in El Paso, Texas according to TMZ. The actor was best known for playing George Jeffersons on All in the Family and the spinoff The Jeffersons and Deacon Frye on Amen. Since the 1970s he has been making us laugh out loud because The Jeffersons has been airing every day since it launched. I know that for a fact because every morning my DVR records it on TV One. I will greatly miss him because I have had a huge crush on him since I was a little kid. I am so happy that I met him a few years ago and he was nice as you would expect him to be.
So today take a moment and remember him by watching him on one of his famous sitcoms, I know I will be. Thank you so much Sherman Hemsley for all of the laughs!

Sylvester Stallone’s son Sage passed away today at the age of 36. Sly’s lawyer George Braunstein told to The New York Post: “I have just gotten a report that he was found dead at his home…. He was in good spirits, and working on all kinds of project. He was planning on getting married. I am just devastated. He was an extremely wonderful, loving guy. This is a tragedy.” Through his publicist Michelle Bega the grieving father released this statement, “Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son Sage Stallone…His compassion and thoughts are with Sage’s mother, Sasha [Czack]. Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man, his loss will be felt forever.” My prayers go out to Stallone and his ex-wife because no parent should suffer the loss of a child.
Sage starred along with his father in Rocky V and Daylight. To keep his spirit alive, I suggest watching one of those movie. I will rewatch Daylight because it is one of my favorites.

Richard Dawson passed away yesterday at the age of 79. His son Gary posted this message on Facebook, “Dear Friends. It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my father passed away this evening from complications due to esophageal cancer. He was surrounded by his family. He was an amazing talent, a loving husband, a great dad, and a doting grandfather. He will be missed but always remembered…” We will always remember him for changing the face of game shows when he was the original host of Family Feud. We always remember the laughs we got watching him on Hogan’s Heroes. He will live on, so help him do so by watching him on either a game show or TV show. Smiling through the tears will help you remember his genius as it should be remembered.
