RIP James Avery
January 1st, 2014 under Obits. [ Comments: none ]

James Avery passed away yesterday at the age of 65. His Fresh Prince of Bel-Air co-star, Alfonso Ribeiro, broke the sad news on Twitter by saying, “I’m deeply saddened to say that James Avery has passed away. He was a second father to me. I will miss him greatly.” It was the role of Phillip Banks that made him a household name and gave him a special place in our hearts. But this is only one of the many roles we will remember his boisterous voice for, I say that because he was the voice of Shredder on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and many other cartoons like Iron Man and Aladdin. It was that vocal deepness and his powerful look that throughout his 30+ year career he played a judge, doctor and reverend on several TV shows like Amen and LA Law and in many movies.
So today let’s honor him with a laugh and watch at least one of his many funny episodes of Fresh Prince.

December 3rd, 2013 under Obits, Vin Diesel. [ Comments: none ]

Paul Walker and Vin Diesel became household names after they did the first Fast and Furious flick when it was released in 2001, and after many sequels together they formed a special bond. Yesterday Dominic Toretto came out to honor his fallen friend, Brian O’Conner at the site where we lost him on Sunday. The actor grabbed one of the police car radios to broadcast a special message he has for all of Walker’s fans that have been visiting his shrine in Valencia, Ca. He said, “I just wanted to say to all of you, if my brother were here right now and he saw all the love you were bringing here. If he could see for himself that all of you have showed up to show my brother love at this hard time. And the family gets to see all of you, to show the love you have shown Paul. It’s gonna stay with me forever.” Then he added, “I just wanted to say, ‘Thank you, thank you for coming down here and showing that angel up in heaven how much you appreciated him.’” And with that he put the radio down and the crowd cheered him. Somewhere up in heaven Paul is thanking his brother for those kind words.
So today honor Paul Walker’s legacy by donating to his charity Reach Out Worldwide.

The actor is survived by a 15 year old daughter and he recently talked about her to Express. He said, “When you have kids young that’s part of the game. I’m grateful I had her (daughter) at 25 and not 20 because, at 40 and 15, we’re matching up sweet! She’s been with her mom her whole life and she wants a relationship with her pops.
