KPop Demon Hunters is getting the toy treatment
October 21st, 2025 under Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

KPop Demon Hunters is Netflix’s #1 movie all time, the soundtrack is #1 on the Billboard charts, and it is this Halloween season’s top costumes.

People cannot get enough of the animated musical. Therefore, it makes sense that the streamer partnered with Mattel and Hasbro to release toys, games, action figures, accessories, collectibles, playsets, plush dolls, and youth electronic toys, inspired by the movie and its three leading stars.

“KPop Demon Hunters unleashed a global fan frenzy — we’re talking dancing, singing, and more screaming than anyone was emotionally prepared for,” said Marian Lee, Chief Marketing Officer, Netflix. “HUNTR/X showed us that a truly great trio is more than the sum of its parts. Netflix, Mattel and Hasbro joining forces on this first-of-its-kind collaboration means fans can finally get their hands on the best dolls, games, and merchandise they’ve been not-so-subtly demanding on every social platform known to humanity. As Rumi, Mira and Zoey say — for the fans!”

The collection will be available in the Spring, so you are going to have to figure out something else to get the Hunters in your life for Christmas! But next Christmas, you can sing and play with them all you want.

What is, Pop Culture Jeopardy is switching to Netflix?
October 16th, 2025 under Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

Prime Video got into the Jeopardy business with Pop Culture Jeopardy. But after one season, they are getting out of it.

Their loss is Netflix’s gain because the streamer picked it up for a second season.

“Pop Culture Jeopardy! captivated an audience with its fun and energetic game play, building on the beloved franchise and offering fans an opportunity to test their zeitgeist knowledge,” said Suzanne Prete, President, Game Shows, Sony Pictures Television. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be partnering with the exemplary team at Netflix, to bring more episodes to our passionate and loyal viewers.”

Hopefully, they will remain loyal to Colin Jost and find a way to bring him back as the host because they are not going to be able to find anyone better for the job.

I thought that PCJ would be easy, but it was harder than I thought. While I sucked at it, if you believe you and two friends have what it takes to win, then you can apply here.

The game will debut on its new home in 2026.

The wives are still hunting on Netflix
September 12th, 2025 under Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

The Hunting Wives is Netflix’s surprise hit of the year, so fans have been wanting more of Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman. So much so that every interview they do, the interviewers want to know if it will be back for season 2.

Today, Netflix announced that the fans are getting what they want. Showrunner/Writer/EP: Rebecca Cutter: “I’m so excited to write these amazing characters again, and I can’t wait to take the audience on another sexy, twisted, batshit crazy ride through Maple Brook.”

What can we expect from the Wives? Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games the question arises. Are they the hunters or the hunted?

We will have to wait until next year to find out, but at least we are going to find out.

And we are going to have to wait that long to see if Ackerman will wear that awful wig again or die her blonde hair red?

When Sweet Magnolias ended season 4, Maddie (JoAnna Garcia Swisher) announced that she was moving to Manhattan to work as a publisher. So, I wondered, if it got a fifth season, how they would handle her leaving Serenity?

Now, we know! According to Tudum, the show has been in production with season 5, and they have been filming in Manhattan and Atlanta, the home of Serenity, South Carolina.

“We are thrilled to let the Magnolias take Manhattan,” showrunner and executive producer Sheryl J. Anderson tells Tudum. “Not only is this adventure huge fun, it’s also an opportunity to explore the facets of their relationships in a new context. While it’s crucial to have true friends in day-to-day life, it’s priceless to have them supporting you when you leap out of your comfort zone.”

The sweet friendship drama is adding three new cast members. Jamie-Lynn Sigler plays Nell Winters, a prominent writer Maddie befriends in New York, while Janice Wesley joins as Miss Eustice, a town matron of Serenity. Courtney Grace plays Courtney Sinclair, Ronnie’s new, hard-charging business partner, and John Gabriel Rodriquez plays Clark Bellson, a rival business owner in Serenity who complicates life for the Magnolias. Aidan Merwarth plays Noah Wharton, the Whartons’ grandson, and Austin Woods plays Blake Monaghan, both of whom complicate life for the Mini Magnolias. Iman Benson plays Jessica Whitley, Erik’s niece, who brings unexpected news to Erik and Helen.

The ten episodes do not have a premiere date.

The Stranger Things teaser is a real tease
July 16th, 2025 under Netflix. [ Comments: 2 ]

We are 133 days from the premiere of the first part of the final season of Stranger Things, 162 days from part 2, and 168 days from the series finale. And that is way too many days after watching the teaser, which makes those final eight episodes look epic. Seriously, how excited are you for season 5?

I didn’t need coffee this morning because that teaser gave me such an adrenaline rush that I am wide awake.

The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.

Every time a series ends, I am always wishing that everyone dies. But that never happens. I am hoping that, after that teaser, that is the case for this show. Because how fitting would that be? Unless it ends with them all going back to the beginning, right before Will Beyers goes missing.

The first four episodes drop on Netflix on November 26th, the next three on Christmas, and the final one on New Year’s Eve.
