Mike Myers will play 8 characters in The Pentaverate
April 28th, 2022 under Mike Myers, Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

On May 5th, Mike Myers is back doing what he does best, and that is playing several different roles in one series. Since it has been a long time since he did that, he is going to be making up for lost time in The Pentaverate. The actor will play not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven, but eight new characters in the Netflix comedy.

They are:
Ken Scarborough: An old-school Canadian news journalist who sets out to expose the Pentaverate and win his job back
Anthony Lansdowne: A New England conspiracy theorist, determined to expose the Pentaverate
Rex Smith: A far-right radio host and highly prominent conspiracy theorist
Lord Lordington: The Pentaverate’s oldest and highest-ranking member.
Bruce Baldwin: Former media mogul
Mishu Ivanov: Ex-Russian oligarch
Shep Gordon: Former Rock-N-Roll manager
Jason Eccleston: A tech genius who invented the Pentaverate’s supercomputer, MENTOR

Since it is not a one-man show, he will be joined by Rob Lowe, Jennifer Saunders, Ken Jeong, Keegan Michael-Key, and Debi Mazar throughout the six 30-minute episodes.

It might not be the fourth installment of Austin Powers, but it is a much-needed hold-over until then.

Yeah, baby. We got our baby back, baby back, baby back ribs. Sorry, I had to do it.

I’m not bullsh*tting you, Bullsh*t the Gameshow brings excitement back to game shows
April 27th, 2022 under Howie Mandel, Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

Howie Mandel has a new project out on Netflix now, and it is all about bullsh*tting your way to $1 million.

What? Bullsh*t the Gameshow is not your ordinary trivia game show. Yes, the contestants have to answer trivia questions, but they don’t have to get the answer correct. Instead, they have to make one person believe they got it right.

Let me explain it better. Mandel asks the main contestant a question, and they secretly guess the answer out of four multiple choices. Once their response is locked in, they have to explain to three people why they chose the way they did.

They will say something like I picked A because I grew up in Miami, and I remember the ad that mentioned that very fact. However, they grew up in NY and have no idea if it is right or not, so they bullsh*tted my way through the answer. If the contestant was convincing enough, then the three people they asked will believe them. If at least one person believed them, then they get to move on to the next question and money amount. If no one believed them, then they go home a loser.

However, there is one thing that changes that all. Let’s say the guessing Gds were on their side, and they miraculously got it correct. Then they move on, whether any of the three thought the main person knew what they were talking about or not.

So, as I said, they move on to the next money amount if they got it correct or someone believed their BS. The money amount starts at $1,000 and goes all the way to one million dollars. They have the option to lock in an amount just in case they don’t make it to the top prize. This way, they can go home with that locked amount as compared to nothing at all. They can also leave at a dollar amount if they are afraid that the three people are on to the way that they lie.

The three panelists get to explain why they think the person is telling the truth or why they believe they are lying. They explain to the main person what they believe are that person’s tell or how their story is categorically false.

They are also marked on how often they were able to tell if the person was truthful or not. And there is an interesting reason why. That reason is because the most accurate person replaces the bullish*tter. And then they are on the way to try to win the grand prize. So it is a rotating round of contestants.

Wait, it gets even better. Bullsh*t is not like other game shows where there is a winner at the end of each episode. The 10-episodes are basically one long episode. So that means just because an episode ends doesn’t mean the bullsh*tter’s time is over. It continues on like a Soap Opera.

It is a game show made for the binging world. It truly is the first game show that you can binge in one sitting because it is like a 5-hour movie. And I love that concept.

And I also love Howie Mandel in the role of host of this show. You can tell he is having a blast saying bullsh*t as much as possible, and he says it over and over and over again. This showed me and will show you that game shows need more cursing. I mean, I counted him saying it 447 times.

Now, how did I, as a viewer, feel watching this series? At first, I was trying to guess the real answer to the question. Boring. Then I tried to tell if they were bullish*tting us. A little more exciting. And finally, I was like, how could I BS my way through the situation. The latter was the most exciting.

So if you like learning trivia, you will learn a lot. I know I learned a lot, but I have a lot to learn, like the correct way to pronounce Dr. Suess’ name. If you want to learn how to detect a BS artist, you will learn that t0o. But the thing you will learn the most is that game shows can be fun again.

But then again, I could be BSing you with this whole post. There is only way to tell, and that is to watch Bullsh*t the Gameshow on Netflix now.

The scariest part of The John Wayne Gacy Tapes is not from John Wayne Gacy
April 20th, 2022 under Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

John Wayne Gacy was one of the scariest serial killers of all time. From 1972 to 1978, he was literally getting away with murder because he was targeting teenage boys. Whenever their parents would go to the police, they would be told that their son had run away. Therefore, they didn’t look for him.

However, cops became suspicious of John Wayne Gacy, who portrayed himself as a model citizen, so they began to track him. Then they got a lucky break, and they finally caught him. Well, actually, they found the bodies of 29 young men and boys under his house.

After he was arrested, his lawyers recorded their conversations. These tapes have been released to director Joe Berlinger for the first time, and he turned them into Conversations with a Killer: The John Wayne Gacy Tapes, which is streaming now on Netflix.

While that is haunting enough, we also hear from the cops who arrested him and looked into the case as they describe all the horrors they found in the Gacy house. However, they have nothing on the families who lost loved ones nor the few who were lucky enough to get away.

To me, hearing from them is scarier than hearing from Gacy, who is completely calm on the tapes. He talks about it like we talk about what we did during an average day.

However, that is not the scariest part of the 3-part series. That part comes at the end. One person says something that makes me think he is almost as sick as Gacy. I could not believe that anyone could feel that way. But he did and admitted it on camera more than once.

I would tell you what it is, but you have to watch to be just as shocked as I was. But, I come from a different mentality than he does. And thankfully, not that many people feel the same way. If they did, the world would be an even more messed up place.

Another thing that I found interesting is that not all of the bodies have been identified. In 2011, detectives dug up the bodies of eight unidentified victims to test their DNA. Since then, they have identified two more victims. If you know a young man who went missing near Chicago in the mid-’70s, then reach out to Cook County Sheriff’s office.

Russian Doll found a way to top season 1’s brilliance
April 20th, 2022 under Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

https://youtu.be/QvEyUOoLehI

Season 1 of Russian Doll was brilliant. It dealt with Nadia (Natasha Lyonne) living her birthday over and over and over again until she figures out why she has been cursed to do so. Eventually, she breaks the chain and gets to move on with her life.

So with that in mind, I wondered how they were going to be able to do a second season which is streaming now on Netflix. Would she be forced to live the same day over again and again and again?

Therefore, the producers came up with a way to change it up. This time around, Nadia, who is four years older, gets on a train that time travels her back to 1982. There is something she needs to correct, but can she figure out what it is?

I want to tell you more, but I can’t because it will ruin the experience.

What I will tell you is that 7 30-minute episodes are an easy one-sitting binge. It is so good. And you never know what is going to happen next because the Nadia character is as unpredictable as the show itself. Plus, Lyonne is so captivating in the role. You want to hate her, but you can’t. So you find yourself rooting for her and hoping she can solve the mystery before it is too late. That is why it is so enjoyable, and you will want to watch it all with no break.

Now, I can’t wait to see how they top it for season 3. There better be one, Netflix.

What did Marmaduke do to deserve this?
April 15th, 2022 under Netflix, Pete Davidson. [ Comments: none ]

Marmaduke is one of the most beloved fictional dogs, and he is being voiced by one of the most loved up actors. Not John Mayer, but Pete Davidson.

I don’t get the casting done by Netflix for this feature. I can understand if it was Scooby Doo, but not Marmaduke. It should be someone more likable who voices the part. For example, Kenan Thompson was a lovable Clifford because that is what he is. Davidson is someone you love to hate.

But, what do I know? I am not Kim Kardashian or Ariana Grande.

Now, having said this, I am so going to watch the film when it begins streaming on May 6th. Marmaduke is fun because he is trouble. And I like bad boys when they walk on all fours! There is a joke there, but I won’t go there.
