Really NBC you renew Whitney and pull The Playboy Club?
October 4th, 2011 under NBC. [ Comments: 2 ]

Robert Greenblatt is the new head of NBC and I have not been a fan of his network leadership since he didn’t bring Queer As Folk back for another season on Showtime when he was running the network there.
Now I am not respecting his decision because he has opted to pick up the unfunny comedy Whitney for a full season that proves that not all comedians can act. Case in point Whitney Cummings who doesn’t know that she crosses a line where you can take a joke and if you watch the show you realize that she also can’t deliver a punchline because she can’t act. Yes most comedians are successful when they cross over from the live stage to the taped one like Ray Romano, Jerry Seinfeld and Robin Williams, but Cummings is far from that list to me.
NBC also picked Up All Night for the full season, the first Christina Applegate show I have no interest in watching. I guess what else do they have…Free Agents?
Now that was the good news, I guess. Here is the bad news. NBC has decided to pull The Playboy Club for its schedule thus giving in to the PTC. Hey PTC watch Whitney, it is more vulgar than anything you ever saw on TPC.
I guess I should be grateful that NBC made the decisions that they did because I was watching the pulled show and not watching the renewed one. So that means 1 hour I get back in my life! Thanks Greenblatt, you love to cancell the shows I watch and renew the ones I don’t. Still bitter over Dead Like Me and QAF!

UPDATE: NBC will be airing Prime Suspect on Mondays at 10p in TPC’s slot until October 31 when Rock Center with Brian Williams debuts.

Will Community be less weird this season?
September 22nd, 2011 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Community opened the season saying they will be less weird, but with that outstanding song and dance number I don’t think will be happening any time soon. And let me tell you I don’t have a problem with that at all! Seriously I have signed on for another year and you should too. So don’t be late to class every Thursday at 8p in the NBC building or they will make you partner with Senor Chang all season long!
BTW just with that one minute number, I think Community had the best season premiere so far! Well that and 29 minutes that followed it!

The most bashed show of the fall premieres tonight!
September 22nd, 2011 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]

For months you have read who much TV critics hate Whitney and how bad the sitcom is; and tonight at 9:30p on NBC you get to see if we are right. Let’s just say I have had group get togethers and watched the show with people who didn’t believe me about how unfunny this show is and only one person semi liked it. Granted she didn’t like it because of the new (supposed) It Girl Whitney Cummings, but because she likes Chris D’Elia.
So having said all of that, is Whitney the worst show of the fall season? Nope, it is just the one that got the most buzz for being bad!

The Playboy Club sexes up Monday nights with The Sing-Off!
September 19th, 2011 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 10p on NBC the most controversial new show of the season debuts and you will see that all this negative hype about The Playboy Çlub is all BS! TPC is set at the first Playboy Club in Chicago and it tells the story of the people that work and go there. Certain groups are up in arms because they think it is about the magazine, but it isn’t. Then other people are upset saying that the Playboy Bunnies costumes are too revealing, but I have a lot less fabric on other network shows that are on earlier in the night. So all these judgements of the show were done by people who have never seen it and how can you judge something without seeing it.
As one of the people who has seen it, I call BS on all of their claims because this show is as stunning as it looks. It will be tackling such issues of the time (the late ’60s) like race and sexual orientation. Yes there is the whole issue of these women working in The Playboy Club and the Chicago mob, but that is what makes good TV. So don’t listen to the uptight people that are telling you this show is abomination and haven’t seen it, listen to the people who have and love it!
The Playboy Club isn’t the only show debuting on NBC tonight, The Sing-Off is back with a much longer season starting at 8p! That means more A Capella and more for us to enjoy! Plus Nicole Schoweveryouspellherstupidname is gone and Sara Bareilles is in! Just with that the singing competition that doesn’t use any instruments (besides their voice) instantly got better for me!

Aimee Teegarden goes dark
September 18th, 2011 under NBC. [ Comments: none ]

Now that Friday Night Lights is over, I guess Aimee Teegarden thought it was time for a change because she was seen out with darker and shorter hair. Whatever the reason for the new look, it doesn’t matter because she looks so much better with brown hair.
