NBC cancels Mission Control before it even airs |

Krysten Ritter was supposed to come back to TV in the midseason replacement Mission Control, but according to Entertainment Weekly NBC cancelled it today before it even saw the light of television. The Bitch from Apt 23 was going to play “the head engineer who leads the Apollo team at Mission Control at the NASA Manned Space Center” in the sitcom, but now it won’t take off. EW says that after Michael Rosenbaum left, they had problems recasting the roll.
When it comes to the show, it doesn’t like anything I would want to watch. So it sounds like a smart decision on their part.
Hopefully this bad news is good for their struggling sitcoms. I really hope that the NBC sticks with A to Z because it has the potential to be the best RomCom sitcom to ever grace our TV sets.

Hollywood Execs knew Casey Wilson was getting engaged before she did! |

Tonight at 9p on NBC’s Marry Me, Annie (Casey Wilson) and Jake (Ken Marino) are going to get engaged and the show has ties to the actress’ real life.
David Caspe created tonight’s sitcom and he met Wilson on their past show, Happy Endings. Back when they were still dating, Caspe started pitching this show around. Even though they were not engaged at the time, he knew he was getting ready to pop the question. So he explained at the NBC TCA Summer Press Tour Day, “In an attempt to sell the show, because I care much more about money than personal relationships, all my pitches were basically saying like what’s great about this show is that it’s going to mirror my actual life because I’m going to be proposing very soon.” Then he added, “And then I swore all the presidents of all the networks to secrecy. So technically, Bob Greenblatt and Jen Salke (NBC Executives), they all knew I was going to propose before Casey did or any of her family.”
So did Casey say yes in real life? She did and on May 25, 2014 they became Mr & Mrs Caspe. Does Annie say yes to Jake? We will have to tune in every Tuesday at 9p to find out.

Pee Wee Herman or Howard Wolowitz? |
| September 30th, 2014 under NBC, Pee Wee Herman. [ Comments: none ]

NBC sent out photos of Paul Ruebens on The Blacklist this Monday at 10p and at first glance I thought it was Howard Wolowitz. Seriously, doesn’t Pee Wee Herman look just like a clone of The Big Bang Theory character? Did Sheldon clone his “friend”? What’s the dealio?
I will tell you one thing if we ever get to meet Wolowitz’s dad, then Ruebens would be perfect for the role.

The Mysteries of Laura makes its case tonight! |

Tonight at 10p we get a sneak peek at The Mysteries of Laura, and you don’t want to miss this fun cop drama.
Laura (Debra Messing) is a top notch unconventional NYC homicide detective. That is a tough enough job for anyone. Then throw in the fact that her childish husband, Jake (Josh Lucas) cheated on her, so she kicked him out but he doesn’t realize it isn’t over between them. Finally, she has twin toddler boys who are most likely the spawn of the devil. They have just been kicked out of an elite pre-K and no other school wants to take them in. Her soon-to-be-ex is no help when it comes to finding them a new school. And to make matters worse, she has to solve a high profile murder in Westchester. With all of that on her plate, how is she going to do it all? She is supermom or close to it.
Janina Gavankar, who plays the by-the-book homicide detective Meredith Bose, described this show as being like Columbo and I think that is an accurate description. Laura has that charm and flare about her, even down to the raincoat.
The Mysteries of Laura is lighter than the average crime of the week shows and because of that, it has a much broader appeal. So if you like procedurals but want to laugh, then this is the show for you.
The show moves to its regular time slot of 8p starting next Wednesday.
