This Selfie is miles above any one you could ever take! |

People have thought that they have taken the coolest Selfie with the best background behind them, and they were all WRONG! NASA Astronaut Rick Mastracchio Tweeted this Selfie today outside the International Space Station during a Space Walk with the Earth behind him and what could be more awesome? You think you can top that? You can’t because this one is literally out of this World!!!
BTW Astronaut Mastracchio said that it was actually hard for him to take this Selfie because the Space Suit makes it difficult to get a clear view of his face. But he didn’t let that stop him and he took several pictures until he got this one. I am glad he kept trying because this is just so righteous!

This is how they run in space! |

Astronaut Karen Nyberg has shown us how they wash their hair in space and also how they go to the bathroom, and now she is showing us how they get the exercise up there. It is almost as much of a workout getting on the COLBERT (yes it’s names after that Stephen guy) Treadmill as it is actually running on it.
BTW the fact that she runs a half hour everyday in space, will now make me feel like crap if I sit on my a$$ all day down here on Earth.

Astronaut Karen Nyberg Tweeted this picture from the International Space Station and said, “One of the coolest games in space: playing w/ water & the phenomenon of refraction.” And it creates a really cool photo.
So the next time you post a picture of yourself doing duck lips in your bathroom mirror, just remember it will never be as cool as this selfie from outer space.

She’s gonna wash those aliens right out of her hair! |

We have seen how astronauts go to the bathroom in space, and now Expedition 36 Crew Member, Karen Nyberg, shows how they wash their hair up there. Since their hair is basically weightless and they don’t have showers, they have to wash their hair differently than we do it here on Earth. So Nyberg walked us through the process of what she does to keep her locks clean. First she uses warm water from a bag and places it on her scalp so the water will rise up. Then she follows up with rinse-free shampoo in the same manner, but this time she uses a towel to make sure she gets as much dirt out as possible. Finally she rinses out the shampoo with some more warm water from the bag and continues to comb her hair into a pretty cool look as she waits for it to dry. As the water dries, the evaporation of it gets sucked up into the International Space Station’s air conditioning system and then the water processing system will turn into drinking water. Talk about recycling!
Seriously how cool is it to see how they wash their hair up in space? In ways I wish it was as easy to do here as it is to do it there.
