Dear Susan Boyle, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber, You have all been dethroned by PSY on YouTube. His Gangnan Style music video now holds the title of Most Watched according to NDTV. That horse riding dance has been viewed over 805,055,375 times. OK so now that almost everyone in the world has seen that dance, can we please please please move on to the next musical fad?
After 35 years of being together, the death of their voice in 1997 and a reality show to find a new singer, INXS has finally decided to call it quits. Yesterday at a concert in Perth Jon Farriss announced that that would be their last show together as a band according to Sidney Morning Herald. No reason was given for their sudden split, but if you ask me it was 15 years too late. They should’ve ended the band after Michael Hutchence died. Without him they were never ever the same, he made them. He was a presence that could never be duplicated, no matter how hard they tried. I saw them in concert with him once and he really knew how to put on a show. For the encore he called the audience, and I do mean the audience, on to the stage and it was crazy. I never saw anyone do that before and never saw anyone do it again. Sadly a short time afterwards he was no longer with us. It was such a tragic loss to the music industry and still is.
3Penny Chorus and Orchestra has done their version of Carly Rae Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe and I hope that is the final version of her hit because no one can top this take of it. I mean seriously how do you do better than an orchestra and chorus? You just can’t.
I thought Glee would be the final nail in that song’s coffin, but I think 3Penny has officially nailed that coffin shut.
So now that I have declared the end for Call Me Maybe, can we make it official because I am so sick of that song.

Luke Bryan was given the honor of singing the National Anthem at the Baseball All-Star game. So today you would think that everyone would be saying how great his rendition was, but all people are talking about is how he wrote some of the lyrics on his hand. The singer took to Twitter to explain himself by saying, “Morning everyone. I really wanna explain the national anthem performance from last night. I had a few keys words written down to insure myself that I wouldn’t mess up. I just wanted to do my best. I promise it was from the heart. If I offended anyone with my approach I sincerely apologize. Anytime I sing the anthem it is an honor and my heart beats out of my chest. I did check my watch because I knew the stealth bomber would fly over 2 minutes in and I knew a started a little late. Being a part of the all star game was amazing and I look forward to the next time I can perform the anthem. Thanks y’all. Love ya”
You know what, I don’t think he did anything wrong. How many of you know every word of that song off the top of your head. Now imagine doing it all by yourself with millions of people watching. You would do the same thing that he did to make sure you get every word right. I am surprised more people who are given that opportunity don’t do the same thing. If I did it I would need a huge teleprompter with every word listed to make sure I don’t screw it up. And I bet you I would still miss a word or two.
Now when it comes to Bryan, I am not a fan of his for being real and not taking such an honor for granted.
XOXO DQ!!!
