Tenet is delayed indefinitely
July 20th, 2020 under Movies. [ Comments: none ]

Tenet was supposed to be the first movie released in movie theaters when they finally opened up again. However, every time they set a date, COVID-19 changes Warner Bros’ plans. The action film was slated to come out on August 12th, but now its release date has been delayed indefintely.

“We will share a new 2020 release date imminently for Tenet, Christopher Nolan’s wholly original and mind-blowing feature,” said Warner Bros. chairman Toby Emmerich in a statement. “We are not treating Tenet like a traditional global day-and-date release, and our upcoming marketing and distribution plans will reflect that.”

What that means, who knows? As of now, it does not look like people will be going to the movies anytime soon. I say just release these movies online or roll them out in drive-in theaters. Look at the sucess Disney+ had with Hamilton. Imagine if Warner Bros did the same with Wonder Woman: 1984 on HBO Max. It would really help to launch that streaming service.

When it comes to Tenet, it looks like another Dick Flick. What I want to know what is going to happen with Bill & Ted Face the Music. It was going to come out the week after Tenet. I say they should just stream it because it was always going to do better on home video than in the the theater. I need my Bill & Ted!

Walmart is getting into the drive-in movie experience
July 2nd, 2020 under Coronavirus, Movies. [ Comments: none ]

Walmart

Due to the coronavirus pandemic getting worse here in America, movie theaters do not know when they will open up again. People are missing that experience, and Walmart wants to give it back to them.

Starting in August, they will be converting 160 of their parking lots into drive-in movie theaters. They say, “This family-friendly night will include hit movies, special appearances from filmmakers and celebrities and concessions delivered right to customer vehicles.”

No other details are known at this time, but I am hoping that Bill & Ted Face the Music is one of the movies that they screen. Too bad there isn’t a Walmart in San Dimas because that would have been most excellent.

I am so grateful that corporations are getting creative to let us safely enjoy the things we used to do all the time.

Pulse asks, what would you do if you got a body transplant?
June 21st, 2020 under Movies. [ Comments: none ]

What if you were a disabled teen who never got to do what the other kids do? Then one day, you are told you can have a new body and do whatever you want to do? That is Ollie’s (Daniel Monks) story in Pulse.

Ollie is an angry teen because he is gay and disabled, and he can’t even party without something going embarrassingly wrong. His mother (Caroline Brazier) does everything to make his life as normal as possible, and all he does is treat her like crap. Since she is her mom, she takes it.

When he is given the chance to get a body transplant, she agrees to let him do it. Now, her son Ollie is her daughter Olivia. Oll can do whatever they want to do, and they do. Oll starts drinking and sleeping with their crushes, all while keeping his true identity a secret from everyone but his mom and his best friends. What happens when his secret and all of his secret trysts are revealed?

Getting everything you want is not always as great as you think it would be. Do you go back to having nothing or try to make the best of your new self? It is interesting question poised by Pulse.

Pulse is one of the most original movies of the year. You have not seen anything like it, and you might not again.

Stevie Cruz-Martin does a brillant telling David Monks’ story. She brings his words to life in a way that will hold you captive from the beginning of the movie until the end.

If you want to watch an intriguing film, then you are going to want to check out Pulse on home video today.

You are going to eat up The Dinner Party!
June 9th, 2020 under Movies. [ Comments: none ]

You are cordially invited on June 9th to watch The Dinner Party on Home Video, and you don’t want to be late for this movie.

Jeffrey Duncan (Mike Mayhall), and his wife, Haley (Alli Hart), are invited to a dinner party with the elite guests of renowned surgeon and culinary enthusiast, Carmine Braun (Bill Sage). If all goes well, then Duncan’s screenplay could go to Broadway. It would be a dream come true for him. That is if he lives through the night. This dinner party has the guests on the menu.

Braun and his friends, Sebastian (Sawandi Wilson), Carmine (Bill Sage), Sadie (Lindsay Anne Williams), Agatha (Kamille McCuin), and Vincent (Doleac) have plans for the couple. What they don’t know about the husband and wife could kill them before they kill the spouses.

Who will kill who and what’s for dessert? You are will to have to watch this horror movie written and directed by Miles Doleac. Just when you think that horror movies cannot be original, one comes along and reminds you that there are still new things they can do to surprise and scare us.

The Dinner Party pretty much takes place in one location. You would think that would make the cast comfortable in their setting and start to get bored. However, they deliver the perfect amount of peculiarness with suspense. Just when you think you know everything about their characters, they find a way to trick us.

Depending on how strong your stomach is, you might not want to eat before you watch a movie about people eating…each other.

How many times did they say cats in Cats?
June 4th, 2020 under Movies. [ Comments: none ]

The name of the movie is Cats, so you would expect them to say it a few times during the musical. However, they said it so many times each member of the cast, crew, and their families will be able to claim one. There is one for every negative review they got. Actually, maybe every cat in the world could mark one as their territory.

Don’t believe me? Then listen to every cat that was said in Cats in the video above.

They said so many, I will not be calling my kitty one any time soon.

BTW When it comes to the exact number, I don’t know. I can’t count that high.
