BTWF roles: Eric Stonestreet on Dharma and Greg

(starts at 2:25 in )

Before Eric Stonestreet stole Emmy gold thanks to his role on Modern Family, he was trying not to get arrested on Dharma and Greg. He looks exactly the same now as he did when he was 27 in that 1999 episode.

Now that Modern Family won the Emmy, which cast member will run naked down Sunset?

(bottom photo from Sofia Vergara’s Twitter )

A few weeks ago Modern Family and ABC put out an ad saying if they were to win the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series, that Sofia Verga would run naked down Sunset Blvd. But if you read the fine print, you will see that the cast member could change without notice. Recently I was at the ABC TCA summer press day and I asked the adult cast members who were there, Emmy winner Eric Stonestreet, Ed O’Neill, Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Sofia Vergara and show creator and two-time Emmy winner Steve Levitan, would they do the nude run if they brought home that coveted gold statuette. Well as you know, the show won the Emmy award it so richly deserved for Outstanding Comedy Series, and here is who we might see video of running their bare a$$es down Sunset Blvd. Who will do it, who won’t and how they will do it might surprise you because it surprised me!

Eric Stonestreet
Julie Bowen said, I would walk and wave down Sunset Blvd if we won. No! I would nominate Ty, probably, to take Sofia’s place or Ed. I don’t know anyone who wants to see me walking naked anywhere.

Ed O’Neill
No, no, no, no! Nobody wants to see me naked trust me. Maybe Sofia, for sure. Sofia might do it

Ty Burrell
Ty: I guess this is a spoiler, “yes!” I’m first up
SOW: Are you ready to do it?
Ty: I’m going to do it today, just for fun…I do it every day just for exercise, a naked run down Sunset, just for fitness. So if they want to document it, that will be fine.

Julie Bowen
JB: I don’t know anyone who would do it.
SOW: Ty said he would do it.
JB: G-d bless Ty
SOW: I think it is going to be the twins.
JB: I have no idea, boy we should be so lucky to have that problem.

Sofia Vergara
SV: I will do what I have to do. I mean, I don’t think I will run that is really ridiculous because I have bad knees….They called me from the show and were like do you mind if we put this ad in and I was like “no!” but I really thought they were not going to put it in. And then like two days, I realized that they did it.
SOW: Ty said he would go naked if you don’t want to.
SV: Well hopefully if you read it perfectly, you see it says the cast member can change, so I am hoping it is either Ty or Ed maybe.

Steve Levitan
SL: I will not do that under any circumstances, I don’t want to blind people.
SOW: Oh please…Who came up with the ad?
SL: I wrote that.
SOW: How did you come up with the ad?
SL: They told us they were taking some ads out and I said, that most of the ads taken out for shows are very boring and generic. Why don’t we go past you and do something that is a little bit different, so we wrote a few ads…and let’s try to make people laugh a little bit. Our show is smart, let’s be smart in our ads.

I know who I want to see run naked (and yes it is one of the men who said no), but I know you boys want to see the lovely and naturally funny Sofia Vergara do it. I am still waiting to hear back from ABC who will do it, but as of now no response. All I know is I want to be there when they decide to do it. But what I am looking forward to more is September 22nd, when the show that revived family sitcoms is back for a second season!
I am can’t begin to tell you how happy I am that Modern Family won three Emmys last night because it is such original, well-written, hysterical comedy with a cast that really feel like a family. And if that ad is what pushed those Emmy voters to give it as many wins as they did, then whichever cast member will have to make the embarrassing sacrifice of running in the birthday suit down the Sunset Strip…it was well worth it!

It is the time of the season when TV shows go back in production and one of them is Modern Family. With the hit ABC sitcom back at work, that means we are getting pictures of the awwwdorable little twins who play Lily on the set. I am assuming their parents Tweeted those pictures on the The Baby Lily Pad Twitter page. Can you believe the two and a half year olds have their own Twitter page? I am glad that they do because these pictures were too cute not to share.

Hey Jesse Tyler Ferguson your top half doesn’t go with your bottom one

Don’t you hate when you go to an event and they want you to wear a jacket and a tie, but all you want to wear is jean shorts a T-Shirt? Well if you are Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson you go to the Shakespeare In The Park Opening Night Celebration with suit jacket, button down shirt and a toe on top and jean shorts and shoes without socks, and you like a schmuck as you walk you way down the red carpet.
While I think he looks good from the waste up, he looks stupid when you that ensemble as a whole. You would think that now he is on the most buzzed about sitcom last year, that he would dress better than that.
On a positive note at least he wasn’t wearing those black man socks that almost go half way up your calf.
