It has been way too long since we saw Mark Wahlberg's six-pack abs that were made famous when he did ads for Calvin Klein underwear, but thankfully due to the movie he is filming they made a re-appearance yesterday. Wahlberg is playing The Fighter, Mickey Ward, a role that washboard stomach was born via many crunches to play!!!
Mark Wahlberg was on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night and Jimmy asked him about that skit that was recently on SNL with Andy Samberg doing Mark Wahlberg Talks to the Animals. Mark Wahlberg was funnier in those 95 seconds than SNL (minus Tina Fey’s skits this season) has been all season. If I were Andy I would be afraid, very afraid!
Tonight on Jimmy Kimmel Live! his first TV boss Ben Stein is on the show and next Friday Smashing Pumpkins debuts their new single live!!!
Saturday Night Live did a segment called Mark Wahlberg Talks to Animals and when the NY Post asked him about it he didn’t see the humor in it.
Someone showed it to me on YouTube. It wasn’t like Tina Fey doing Sarah Palin, that’s for sure. And “Saturday Night Live” hasn’t been funny for a long time. They’ve asked me to do the show a ton of times. I used to watch it when Eddie Murphy was there and Joe Piscopo and Bill Murray. I don’t even know who’s on the show now.
Major ouch! I side with Mark Wahlberg on this one because that was not funny. Good thing they didn’t call him Marky Mark or he would have really gone for the jugular.
BTW here is what SNL were parodying.
Zoo Magazine sat down with Mark Wahlberg and asked him about turning down a role in the Ocean's franchise and here is what he had to say!
Is it true you turned down the chance to be in the Ocean's films? Yeah – and it was well worth it! The second one sucked! People tell George Clooney it's great, but we all know it sucked. I made two bad movies instead – Planet Of The Apes and The Truth About Charlie – but doing that was better than sitting with Brad and George, telling the press how great everybody is! "We were in Europe, George was funny, then we had some wine…" – that's not for me. I do love those guys, but I had to step out on my own.
I have to admit he is so right, Ocean's 12 sucked and their movie junkets are so sweet and lovey dovey that it is sickening. Plus you have to admire him for admitting he makes bad movies, how many other actors do that.
