We are 11 days away from finally seeing how Lost will end, and Bablegum came up with three different endings for the departing show. I can’t remember what show they are parodying in the first one, but I love what they did with The Breakfast Club ending and the Newhart finale. Part of me is kind of hoping it ends like one of them. Who I am lying to, it better end better than those. Although I have been joking for years that J.J. Abrams and his crew might end it like Newhart with Felicity writing a book called Lost about the survivors of a plane crash on a mysterious Island…
On that note, a few weeks ago I spoke to the legendary Bob Newhart at the TV Land Awards. When I asked him about what his fondest moment was from all of his hit shows, he told me it was the Newhart finale. He also told me who came up with the brilliant ending and why it was only able to work for that show!
He also told me what is up next for him, he is working on doing some stand up and a possible feature. Maybe next year Bob Newhart (one of the actors I have the utmost respect for in Hollywood) will be the new Betty White, that everyone will be doing Facebook petitions for to get him to host things. Hey TV Land, get him to play Betty White’s lover on your hysterical new sitcom Hot in Cleveland. I want to see the two of them in bed together!!!
Evangeline Lilly was on the Late Show with David Letterman and she actually out bitched him several times. The Lost star doesn’t always come off as the warmest person, and that really worked for her in the interview. I am so happy someone knocked the late night host down a notch because if anyone deserved it is him.
I loved how she called him out for not watching her show and pretending that he did and also not remembering her past chats with him. But what was even better was when she asked him how he would end Lost and he gave a stupid answer, so she didn’t let him live it down. Plus you have to watch what she says that left him speechless.
I can’t believe I am saying this but I finally like her. She really held her own during the interview and even one upped Letterman several times.
Why did it take her 6 years to impress me? She should have been like that from day one. Maybe now because she doesn’t have anything to worry about, she is letting her true self show. Keep it up!
So before we say goodbye to her for a long time, watch her on one of the final 3 episodes of Lost tonight on ABC at 9p!
A few days ago ABC announced that the Lost finale was getting an extra 30 minutes and today they announced who and what will be part of the Jimmy Kimmel Live special. Naveen Andrews, Nestor Carbonell, Alan Dale, Jeremy Davies, Emilie de Ravin, Michael Emerson, Matthew Fox, Daniel Dae Kim, Terry O’Quinn and Harold Perrineau, with special appearances by Jorge Garcia, Josh Holloway and Evangeline Lilly will all be part of JKL: Aloha to Lost. But that is not the exciting part, JKL will also show three alternate endings to Lost. I can’t wait to see what else executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse came up with for The End. I just hope that none of those three alternate endings are better than the one we see around 11:30p.
Now I wonder with at least four different endings, if any of the cast and crew really know how Lost will end? We will find out when Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost airs on ABC at 12:05a. BTW JKL has had the most audience requests in its 7 year history. As soon as they announced the special, I put my request in…now I better check to see if I got tickets!!!
Finally this is not the first time the show has taped different endings, so that the true one wouldn’t leak. At the end of the fourth season, they filmed 3 different people in the coffin and when the season finale aired it was Locke whose body was lying in there. To see who else was lying in that coffin, check out the video below.
Before J.J. Abrams was the hottest producer/director of the new millennium, he was an actor in Six Degrees in Separation. How cool was it to see the 27 year old in front of the camera in that 1993 movie?
If finally having Iron Man 2 out now is not enough of a treat, the teaser trailer for J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg’s Super 8 is showing before the blockbuster. According to The Wrap J.J. will direct the $45-50 million feature that he wrote this fall, and it is due out next summer. After just that little tease, I can’t wait to see that movie. Well that is if the Lost ending is a good one like Newhart and not bad one like The Sopranos because if it is the latter I will find myself boycotting anything that has J.J. initials attached to it.
xoxo Monica!
