The birth of a child should be the happiest moment in a couple’s life. But when a doctor’s wife has twins, one of whom has Down syndrome, this physician makes the difficult decision to send one of his babies away. An attending nurse discovers his plan and intervenes, putting into motion events that will haunt the doc, his wife and his son for the next 20 years. This all-star movie features Dermot Mulroney (“The Wedding Date”), Gretchen Mol (“3:10 to Yuma”) and two-time Oscar nominee Emily Watson (“Angela’s Ashes”). Based on The New York Times best-selling novel, Memory Keeper’s Daughter by Kim Edwards.
Memory Keeper’s Daughter is an amazing movie and is one of those movies that is good as the trailer makes it seems. It starts out in 1964 with a women giving birth to twins, one healthy and one who her and her husband did not know she was having who is born with down syndrome. Her husband who is a doctor realizes that his daughter has down syndrome tells the nurse to take her to institution and they will take care of her there, but tells his wife the baby died. All this sounds shocking. but this movie shows what a different time it was back in the ’60s from the birth to how they handled mentally challenged people back then. We have come a long way since 1964, thankfully.
But back to the movie, the movie then goes on to follow both families, the doctor’s is torn apart and the nurse finds one.
The story is great with an ending that will make that will keep the movie in your memory for a long time! So tune in to Memory Keeper’s Daughter tonight at 9p on Lifetime!

Project Runway is saying “Auf Wiedersehen!” to Bravo and hello to Lifetime according to Variety. The Weinstein Co signed a 5 year deal with Lifetime beginning with the next edition of the show airing on the network this November. Needless to say NBC and Bravo are not all that happy being dumped and have filed suit against The Weinstein Co in the NY Supreme Court, but TWC does not feel they have the case.
Here is what Lifetime and TWC said about their new joint relationship with Project Runway.
“‘Project Runway’ is one of the best television programs on the air today on broadcast or cable,” Wong said. “I am a huge fan. All my friends are huge fans. Having watercooler movies, dramas, and reality shows like ‘Project Runway’ is what Lifetime Television is all about. We welcome The Weinstein Company, Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn to the Lifetime family for many walks down the runway to come.”
In a statement, theWeinsteins thanked NBC and Bravo for helping nurture the show into a hit, but said “having Lifetime’s unique cable reach will ensure that the show will continue to grow and expand in the years to come.”
“Lifetime is one of the strongest cable networks in the industry, with great leadership and a true commitment to original programming,” the Weinsteins said. “We are very excited for the many new opportunities that will now be provided to ‘Runway’ and its fans and look forward to premiering the sixth season in November 2008.”
I for one can’t wait to see what changes Lifetime makes to the show because you know there will be some! And Lifetime has been doing some great work in the reality department with How To Look Good Naked, Your Mama Don’t Dance, Lisa William’s Life Among the Dead and America’s Psychic Challenge!

Lifetime picks up How To Look Good Naked |
April 2nd, 2008 under Lifetime. [ Comments: none ]

Lifetime likes naked women so much so that they picked How To Look Good Naked for a second season according to the Hollywood Reporter. Carson Kressley is so sincere and understanding as he helps women to feel more comfortable with the skin that they are in, that was a no-brainer for Lifetime to pick it up! I have learned so many good tips from the show, I can’t wait until July to learn even more.

The Capture of the Green River Killer is the first mini-series created for Lifetime Movie Network and it begins tonight.
I miss the old days when networks would air mini-series during sweeps, and this movie reminded me how much I miss them. Green River Killer is great crime thriller that is about capturing one of the most deadly serial killers ever. This is based on a man that was killing prostitutes near Seattle Washington in the mid-eighties and how he was caught. The movie is not about the killer, but the women he killed and the man who spent almost 20 years trying to put him behind bars. Tom Cavanagh plays a detective who gives up his life to catch this man. Amy Davidson (8 Simple Rules) plays a teenager who becomes a prostitute and from her story you see how a girl can get into the business. The movie also features Sharon Lawrence as her mom and James Marsters as Ted Bundy.
The Capture of the Green River Killer will leave you guessing throughout the 4 hours and you will also see how far technology has advanced to the point that you can actually catch a killer in just 20 years.
The Capture of the Green River Killer is an interesting four-hour mini-series that will keep you interested throughout it all. So tune in to Lifetime Movie Network tonight and tomorrow at 8p to watch this miniseries that will keep you guessing until the end.

Don’t be a stupid person and check out Wisegal on Lifetime! |
March 15th, 2008 under Alyssa Milano, Lifetime, Reviews. [ Comments: none ]

Time for all the “wiseguys” to step aside for the “wisegal” in a mob movie like no other. From Executive Producer Joe Pistone, the real-life “Donnie Brasco,” comes a true story offering the female take on life in the Mafia. Patty Montanari, widowed at a young age, takes a page from the neighborhood Mafioso and turns to selling contraband cigarettes to support her three sons. Patty then begins a romance with mobster Frank Russo, who recognizes her business savvy and gives her a nightclub to manage. Before long, she gets promoted even higher up in the ranks. She becomes a big-time money courier for “the family.” And although she’s living the high life, Patty soon becomes disenchanted with the mob  especially when she fears that her sons may end up “wiseguys” one day. But everyone knows getting out of the mob ain’t easy  especially when you’re working for the boss of one of New York’s five biggest crime families. See how Patty tries to break free without losing her life.
Wisegal is a great movie that even though it is a mob movie it is not too mob heavy if that makes sense. I am not the biggest fan of mob movies, but I loved Wisegal. Alyssa Milano plays a woman who finds herself, her two sons and her mom broke after her husband dies from cancer and is forced to take on work she would not have done had he still been alive. She befriends the wrong people at the right time and makes a living for herself and finds loves with Jason Gederick. Gederick, who never ages, is the one that helped her get in to this life, but it is her toughness that keeps her in the life! This is great movie that everyone can watch because it has little something for men and women and the acting and story will keep you hooked!
So tune in to Wisegal tonight on Lifetime at 9p for, I mean with the family. And if you miss it tonight it will be repeating tomorrow and Monday at the same time!
