Fans of LeVar Burton have been doing everything in their power to get him to guest host Jeopardy, and it worked. Today, the game show announced that he will be in the final group of guest hosts this season, along with George Stephanopoulos, Robin Roberts, David Faber, and Joe Buck.
“THANK YOU… to all y’all for your passionate support,” Burton wrote. “I am overjoyed, excited, and eager to be guest-hosting Jeopardy!, and will do my utmost best to live up to your faith you have in me. YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE! Go ahead and take my word for it, this time.”
Mike Richards, Executive Producer of Jeopardy, confirmed they made the difference. “Our passionate fans are telling us what they like, and we are listening,” he said. “All of the guest hosts have brought individualism, energy and an authentic love of our show to each of their episodes. We look forward to sharing the rest of the season with our viewers.”
Except for the Reading Rainbow host, I think the rest of the names are a yawn. I don’t know how people stay awake when they watch Good Morning America. That show is as exciting as watching my coffee cool down so I can drink it without burning my tongue.
I wish they would’ve gotten Neil DeGrasse Tyson to audition to be a permanent host. I think he would have been great. He’s smart and funny, unlike Stephanopoulozzzzz.
