House of Cards will go on without Kevin Spacey
December 4th, 2017 under Kevin Spacey, Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

After a month and a half of waiting, House of Cards fans finally found out the fate of their show. Kevin Spacey is still out and this will be the show’s final season.

That is not all that was confirmed today by Ted Sarandos, the chief content officer of Netflix, he revealed that the sixth season will only be 8 episodes instead of the normal 13, Robin Wright will be back for the final 8 and it will start production next year according to The LA Times.

What we don’t know is if the three episodes that Spacey filmed before he was fired for alleged sexual misconduct on the show will be part of the 8 and how they will handle his absence. My gut says that they will not air those 3 episodes and they will kill him off like they did in the book.

Are you OK with seeing House of Cards going on without him or do you think they should just have ended the show with season five?

The All the Money in World trailer with Christopher Plummer instead of Kevin Spacey
November 29th, 2017 under Kevin Spacey. [ Comments: none ]

Less than three weeks after it was announced that All the Money in the World was replacing Kevin Spacey with Christopher Plummer, they released the first trailer with disgraced star’s replacement.

Gotta love Hollywood magic, how they make the impossible possible. People wondered how the feature film would make its December 22nd release date and now we know it is plausible. Which is a good thing because after reading about John Paul Getty III’s kidnapping, I cannot wait to see this movie.

All the Money in the World edits Kevin Spacey out of the movie

On December 22nd, All the Money in the World is coming out in theaters, but they are reshooting part of it as you read this. Why? They are editing out Kevin Spacey and replacing him with Christopher Plummer. A decision that was made by Ridley Scott and approved by Sony late yesterday according to The Hollywood Reporter. The disgraced actor only shot 8 days of work, so they are hoping they can get it all done by the release date. Which as of now they are not changing.

The Hollywood trade also says that Plummer was always the original choice for the role, but the studio wanted a name. Something I am sure they are regretting now. Or more like a week and a half ago when they crap hit the fan.

UPDATE: House of Cards impeached Kevin Spacey
November 3rd, 2017 under Kevin Spacey. [ Comments: none ]

Last weekend, Anthony Rapp said that Kevin Spacey forced himself on the then 14-year-old in 1986. Since then several other men have come forward saying the same thing. Then things got even worse when it was reported that there are several complaints against the actor on the set of his Netflix show House of Cards throughout the years.

House of Cards was in production when this all went down and immediately stopped filming. They also announced that this season will be its last and it was always intended that way before all of this went down.

Now the show has a dilemma, how do they go on? According to The Hollywood Reporter, they already shot two episodes for season 6 and they were getting ready to shoot the third. Now with the show on a 2 week break (maybe longer) due to the show’s star seeking treatment and his reputation completely ruined, they have to decide if Frank Underwood will be around for the series finale. The trade says sources told them the writers are reworking the political drama and one of the things they are looking at is getting rid of Spacey’s character once and for all. Something that is totally plausible because the book the show is based on killed off Frank Underwood before the final chapter.

Personally, if I were Netflix. I would scrap the first two episodes and start over completely fresh without Spacey at all. The viewers are not going to be ready to see his face anytime soon. Which sucks for me because I was looking forward to a Nine Lives sequel.

What do you think House of Cards should do to Frank Underwood?

UPDATE: Netflix released this statement, “Netflix will not be involved with any further production of House of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey. We will continue to work with MRC [series producer Media Rights Capital] during this hiatus time to evaluate our path forward as it relates to the show. We have also decided we will not be moving forward with the release of the film Gore, which was in post-production, starring and produced by Kevin Spacey.” No word how the show will go on or if it will go on, but I am sure we will find out in the coming weeks.

House of Cards sixth season will be its last
October 30th, 2017 under Kevin Spacey, Netflix. [ Comments: none ]

Less than 24 hours after Anthony Rapp alleged that in 1986, Kevin Spacey forced himself on the Rent star when he was just 14, it has been revealed that House of Cards will be ending its run this season. Your first thought was like mine, was it planned or did this happen due to the allegations? The Hollywood Reporter says that they started working on the final season back in the summer. Therefore, it sounds like it was always in the works. The announcement’s timing was not.

Are you sad that Netflix’s first hit is ending or are you glad it is getting impeached?

Now when it comes to the Family Guy clip I posted from 2005. No word yet from Seth MacFarlane if he knew about Spacey like he knew about Harvey Weinstein and that is why he made a joke about the latter at the Oscars he hosted.
