John Cougar Mellencamp’s son gave him a black eye!
June 6th, 2013 under David Letterman, John Mellencamp. [ Comments: none ]

John Cougar Mellencamp (Sorry he will always have that name to me) was on The Late Show yesterday and he had an obvious black eye. So David Letterman had to ask the singer about it. So Mellencamp told him a little ditty about his son and him getting into a fight; and how 18 year old Speck got a punch in and he didn’t. Boys will be boys!
But Mellencamp wasn’t on the CBS late night show to talk about his black eye, he was there to talk about Ghost Brothers of Darkland County that he did with the great Stephen King. The two men, who say they are like brothers, told the story about how John buying a haunted house brought the two of them together. Of course something being haunted would garner King’s interest. And since King was told John’s house’s story 13 years ago, the two have been great friends. And you can see it in the way they were interacting with each other.
I have been a fan of both of their work since I was a kid, and for some reason I never realized until now just how cool they really are. Don’t you just want to go for a beer in a dive bar and play darts with them as you shoot the sh!t?

Is Meg Ryan listening to John Cougar Mellencamp?
January 6th, 2012 under John Mellencamp, Meg Ryan. [ Comments: 10 ]

Fame Pictures
Meg Ryan was seen out and about listening to her iPhone and I am wondering if she is listening to her boyfriend John Cougar Mellencamp? You know like his song Hurts So Good and Wild Night to remind her of their time together. Plus when are they going to buy a Pink House together in a Small Town? Hopefully before the walls come Crumbing Down!

A little divorce for John and Elaine Mellancamp
December 30th, 2010 under Divorce, John Mellencamp. [ Comments: none ]

A little ditty, ’bout John & Elaine –
Two American stars living’ in the heart land.
Johnny is a rock’n’roll star
Elaine’s a model in the back seat of Johnny’s car.
Oh yeah, life goes on
Long after the thrill of living is gone, sayin’
Oh yeah, life goes on
Long after the thrill of living is gone
They walk on…
Or as his rep put it in a statement released to The Hollywood Reporter, “John and Elaine Mellencamp are proud of their 20 years together and are very happy with their accomplishments both as parents and as a family. They will continue to raise their two children in Indiana but have decided to call it a day as a couple.” The two married in 1992 and have two sons Hud, 16 and Speck, 15.

Help John Mellencamp quit smoking!
December 1st, 2009 under 80s, John Mellencamp. [ Comments: none ]

John Mellencamp’s son wants him to quit smoking so much so that he started a Facebook group to get him to do it. Speck Mellencamp, 14, made a deal with his dad that he if got 1,000,000 people to join the group that his dad would quit smoking. John suffered a heart attack 15 years ago and quitting smoking would really prolong his life. Heck even if he didn’t have a heart attack quitting smoking will greatly extend his life.
I have seen John Mellencamp in concert a few times and he is one of the best performers out there, so I am being completely selfish and I want him to quit smoking just so I can see him a few times more.
As a former smoker, I know quitting isn’t easy but it is the best thing I ever did. So please become a fan of Speck’s group 1,000,000 to join, my dad john mellencamp will quit smoking and let’s get John Mellencamp to stop lighting up!

Quayle walks out on Mellencamp show?
July 17th, 2006 under John Mellencamp, Politics. [ Comments: none ]

Dan Quayle took time out from participating in the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship in Stateline, Nev., on Friday to attend John Mellencamp’s concert only to run into a political statement. He then made a statement of his own by walking out during Mellencamp’s rendition of “Walk Tall.’’ Before launching into the song, Mellencamp told the Harveys casino crowd, in effect, that it was dedicated to everyone hurt by policies of the current Bush administration. Quayle, who served as vice president for President Bush’s father in 1989-93 walked out of the venue before Mellencamp finished the song. Quayle said through a publicist: “Well, I think Mellencamp’s performance was not very good to begin with, and the comment put it over the top.’’
Mellencamp couldn’t be reached for comment.
