Jenifer Lewis might have recently become a senior citizen, but the actress can still do a kick as high as she did when she was a senior in high school. And because of that, I am bowing down to her. Mostly because if she wanted to kick my ass with that kick, I would be tasting it.
Talking about kicking butt, that is what black-ish has done. Therefore the sitcom was inducted into the Smithsonian’s African American Museum of History and Culture on Saturday. Quite a legacy for the series and the actress who plays the matriarch.
Tune in tonight at 9:30p for the second to last episode of the show’s run.
Are you looking for an exercise that will motivate you to work out? Well, Jenifer Lewis found the solution.
She is working out with some friends. Who needs downward dog when you can do pilates with puppies? I would show up early and stay until black-ish if those were my exercise buddies. Granted, I think the only muscle toning I would get would be from petting them.
Today is the day that Jennifer Lewis turned 65, but you would never know it by the high kicks she is doing in her birthday video.
Seriously, even though she is now a senior citizen, she still kicks a$$ like she is a senior in high school. We need to bottle the black-ish star’s energy because I can use some of it.
If the actress didn’t tell us how old she is, I never would have believed her. She looks as fabulous as she feels. And she has a body that women half her age dream of having.
So let’s wish her happy birthday by kicking our legs up in her honor. I just recommend holding on to something because I didn’t and fell on my butt when I tried to do what she did. Ouch!
On January 4th, black-ish will air their final season premiere. They want to go out big, so they got a huge star to guest on that episode.
Dre (Anthony Anderson) and Bow (Tracee Ellis Ross) go to a political fundraiser, and they make friends with Michelle Obama. They invite her over for dinner, and she says yes. The couple hopes for a quiet evening of just the three of them, but their family (Jenifer Lewis, Laurence Fishburne, Marsai Martin, and Miles Brown) invites themselves to dinner.
Will the Johnsons make the former First Lady regret her decision? Of course, they will, and that is why we are sad to see this show go!
Before Jenifer Lewis was the leader in the Johnson household on black-ish, she was the Dean at Hillman College on A Different World. She looks the same now as when she was 35 in that 1992 episode.
