WENN is reporting that Britney Spears might be back on How I Met Your Mother not only for one episode next season but she might be back for all of it.
Here is what Alyson Hannigan aka Lily had to say about her future co-star.
She says, "She's fantastic and just a really, really sweet girl."
And the actress describes the media circus surrounding Spears' presence: "Well the first episode was a big hoopla. A helicopter followed her into work and people were taking pictures of her off the parking structure. It was pretty crazy. But the second time they moved her trailer to a more isolated location and the paparazzi sort of left her alone I guess. Is the top of her head is it really that interesting?"
With this recent development, for the first time, I am not I am sure I am happy that CBS picked up How I Met Your Mother. Wasn't it bad enough CBS that you cancelled Moonlight, now you have to pick up Britney Spears for a season?
Britney Spears is back with a vengeance tonight’s How I Met Your Mother at 8:30p on CBS. The Hollywood Reporter spoke with show creator Craig Thomas who hints that not only will she be back again, but so will How I Met Your Mother!!!
I still can’t believe I am saying this, but I am actually looking forward to Britney Spears second guest appearance on How I Met Your Mother on Monday at 8:30p. Depending how the plot goes, I might not mind her being a series regular. Maybe that will guarantee that How I Met Your Mother will be coming back for a third season!
CBS released the first picture of Britney Spears playing Neil Patrick Harris' revenge fiancee on next Monday's How I Met Your Mother at 8:30p. I can't believe I am admitting this, but I am actually excited to see this episode now that I have seen this photo. Seriously how cute do they look together in matching attire?
Barney and Robin finally had sex on How I Met Your Mother!!! And I can’t wait to see how they handle it on tonight’s HIMYM on CBS at 8:30p!!!

Singer Britney Spears will return to HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER to guest star in an episode to be broadcast Monday, May 12 (8:30-9:00 PM, ET) on the CBS Television Network. Production on the episode began today.
“We’re all so thrilled to have Britney joining us once again. And just to head it off at the pass this time around: Yes, Mom, Britney’s very nice and no, I can’t get her autograph for you,” said Craig Thomas, executive producer and co-creator, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER.
When Barney and Abby realize that they have one thing in common  their mutual hatred of Ted  the “couple” decides to go to the bar to flaunt their new relationship in Ted’s face. Desperate to get a rise out of his former pal, Barney pops a surprising question to Abby.
Reading that description, sounds like tonight’s episode means that Ted and Barney get in to a fight and they are over. I hope Barney’s fake/revenge proposal does not wind up like the one on the series finale of Golden Girls.
