There was a Little House on the Prairie reunion on Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family and Melissa Gilbert confessed that her first kiss ever was on the show with Dean Butler. As they were filming the scene, her mother was wailing in the background and Half Pint was fully nervous. In fact, she asked her TV dad if they could hug instead, but he said no.
You can’t blame for being so scared, she hadn’t even shaved her legs and now she was kissing a good looking man in his 20’s. I would’ve been nervous too.
Tonight you can look up at the sky and count the stars, but that will hurt your neck. Instead you can be comfortable in your bed and watch the sweet Love Under the Stars on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries at 9p.
Becca (Ashley Newbrough) is a forever student, and her latest thesis is going to change her life. Her professor and mentor (Barry Bostwick) gets her job as a teacher’s assistant with his daughter. Becca immediately befriends 9 year old Emily (Jaeda Lily Miller), who lost her mother two years ago and is still not over it. Emily is about the same age as Becca when she also lost her mom. The two of them have an immediate bond. Becca is childlike and Emily is a child. But Becca will change when she meets Emily’s dad Nate (Wes Brown).
Becca’s childhood has made her weary of getting close to people after her mom died and her dad abandoned her. The closer she gets to Emily, the more she realizes she can get close to people again.
She finally has her topic for her thesis, and is hard at work completing it. But when Nate finds out about Becca’s thesis, he thinks she’s been using his daughter and him and asks her to leave. Will Becca pass the course and fail in love? You will just have tune into this wonderful movie that proves that friends come in all ages.
I just have to say I have been a fan of Newbrough’s since Privileged and no one could’ve played this part better than her. She is beyond perfect in the role and I hope we see her on TV more often.
Back in March, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries announced that they picked up the hit movie series Jesse Stone starring Tom Selleck for at least two more telemovies. Today, they announced that ninth installment is called Jesse Stone Lost is Paradise and it will debut this fall.
The famed detective takes a much needed vacation to Boston and the Assistant State Homicide Commander, Lieutenant Sydney Greenstreet (Leslie Hope) knows about his work. She asks him to look in to some unsolved cases. At first, he thinks there is nothing there, but then something catches his eye. The two of them start to investigate that case and find themselves in grave danger. Will they solve the hot case before they find themselves cold? We will find out in a few months. The movie also stars Luke Perry and William Devane.
Back in March, I spoke with Tom Selleck about Jesse Stone changing channels. He wouldn’t tell me much about what is going to happen; but he did talk about what it means to him. He said that he was writing the script for Lost in Paradise like he has done in the past, and will shoot both movies during his summer hiatus from CBS’s Blue Bloods with his partner Michael Brandman. Then he added, “It is always interesting when you’ve been away for three years, there is a great curiosity of the audience, thanks goodness, where Jesse is at.”
He said he was happy with the way things were the progressing with the script. That is important to him because as he explained, “I feel a responsibility because Hallmark has stepped up where we can do the same quality we have always done.”
He concluded his answer about Jesse Stone saying, “I love the character. He is a mess and he is still going to be a mess.”
He might be a mess, but Jesse Stone the series, is anything but. Anyone of any age can enjoy these movies. If you haven’t seen any of them, then I will tell you that several of them are available on Netflix and are constantly airing on the Hallmark Channels. You should check them out this summer before the new film comes to our TVs in the fall.

Kirk Cameron was on Hallmark’s Home & Family yesterday and Mark Steines asked him if fans still go crazy over Growing Pains after all of these years. Cameron told them they do, and his way to get his fans over Seaver Fever is to feed. How? By doing all 7 seasons of the loved sitcom in :60 seconds. And yes a wig is involved.
Did he feed your fever or are you still craving more? Then watch the whole interview to see him breakdance in that same wig. It is a sight you will soon not forget.
Did I mention, he also confirmed that there is talk of bringing back Growing Pains in the same way they are thinking of doing it with his sister Candice Cameron’s show, Full House? I would tune in to see the Seaver Clan together again.
