Back in 2006, Hairspray was one of the most sought-after movies, so the producers were careful who they chose to be in the film.
They were looking to cast either Ashton Kutcher or Jake Gyllenhall for the role of Corny Collins. But it didn’t work out. Instead, they went with James Marsden. And the actor told Vanity Fair how he landed the part.
He went to a bar on Off-Broadway to meet producers Adam Shankman, Craig Zadan, and Neil Meron. While they were talking, Julia Roberts came over and told Marsden that she loved him in The Notebook.
With that, Shankman said, “I guess we’d be kind of stupid to say no to the guy that Julia Roberts just said hello to and loves your work.”
Nikki Blonsky was big news when the unknown actress landed the lead role in the musical version of Hairspray. Now, she has some other coming out about her. The 31-year-old actress broke her news by doing a dancing TikTok to Diana Ross’ song I’m Coming Out, and that is her way of coming out.

Over the weekend, I read that several cast members from the original Hairspray movie, which came out in 1988, up until the most current rendition of the tale, virtually got together to sing the musical’s iconic number You Can’t Stop the Beat. However, when I went to watch it, I could not find it online.
Now, the video is available for us all to watch, and it is exactly what we all need. How can you listen to that song and not feel happy? It is pure joy! Who doesn’t need joy these days?

I think I have an Spanish ghost in my house because every time I leave the room the tv channel changes itself to the Telenovela lol well hey we all have our guilty pleasures I guest ghosts do too! As long as the ghost is cool they can watch their telenovelas when I’m not home lol
Nikki Blonsky’s television suddenly changes channels to a novella, so she thinks her house is haunted by a Latino ghost. She is alright with them doing it as long as they leave her alone.
You know she should watch one of the Spanish soap operas because not only are they so good, they will also teach her to speak Spanish.
When it comes to her house being haunted, I do not think it is. I think it probably a neighbor changing channels who has the same cable system as her. But I am not paranormal investigator like my friends, so what do I know?
Before Harvey Fierstein was washing people’s clothes in Hairspray, he was playing a lawyer on Miami Vice. He looks the same now as he did when he was 31 in that 1986 episode.
