In November, Guinness World Records declared that Gino is the World’s Oldest Living Dog at the age of 22. Well, his record was short-lived, unlike him.
Today, we got to meet Bobi, who is 98 days away from turning 31. The purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo was born on May 11, 1992, and was set to be euthanized by Leonel Costa’s dad when he was just a few days old. However, Leonel and his brothers were able to save the puppy. And now Bobi is 30 years old.
Leonel says that being raised in a quiet village in Portugal, never being leashed, and fed only human food is why his best friend has been able to live this long. That might be the case. Either way, it is a miracle and hopefully the start of more dogs living such a long life.
The last dog to hold the title of the World’s Oldest dog was Bluey, who lived to be 29. He died in 1939.
In less than two months, Flossie is going to celebrate her 27th birthday. Why is that a big deal? Because Flossie is a cat, and no other feline has been recorded to live as long as her. Because of that, Guinness World Records has declared she is World’s Oldest Living Cat.
Flossie is newly adopted by Vicki Green. The cat was originally adopted as a kitten in 1995, but her mother passed away ten years later. The owner’s sister took the kitty in until she passed away 14 years after her sister. Then that woman’s son decided to bring the feline home. However, after a couple of years, he did not feel that he could take care of Flossie, who is now deaf and going blind. So he brought her into Cats Protection, who knew that Vicki would be the purrfect mom for Flossie’s final years.
Vicki is ensuring that her new best friend will have the best life possible, so she is spoiling her with love and food. Because what else does a cat want?
While Flossie is the oldest living cat, she is not the oldest cat to have lived. That title goes to Creme Puff, who lived from August 3, 1967, until August 6, 2005. 38 years old is going to be a nearly impossible record to break, as much as we would love our cats to live that long.
The Guinness Book of World Records has a new Oldest Dog Living as of November 15th, and his name is Gino. The Chihuahua and Eskimo mix turned 22 in September, and he lives in Los Angeles.
Gino’s best friend and dad, Alex Wolf, said, “I’ve taken great care of him over the years and he is still in relatively very good shape…and really cute still which is surprising considering his age!”
He is really cute, and I hope he has many more years ahead of him!
Pebbles, the Guinness World Record holder for Oldest Living Dog, passed away on Monday at the age of 22.
The Toy Fox Terrier was born on March 28, 2000, on Long Island, but spent the majority of her life in South Carolina with her furents and baby daddy. Together the late Rocky and Pebbles were the parents to 32 puppies.
Her furents, Bobby and Julie Gregory said, “She spent her days enjoying country music and being loved. She enjoyed trying new foods, she was pampered, and most of all she was loved. It has been said, she has given us more than we have ever given her, and no statement could be truer. She impacted everyone she encountered. Pebbles was not just another dog; she had her own way about her, and her own personality. She was a once in a lifetime companion, and it was our honor to have had the blessing to have had her as a pet, and family member. There was never anyone who met Pebbles that didn’t love her. She will be deeply missed.”
My heart goes out to her furents because pet owners dream of having an animal for that long. So, I can’t even imagine their pain.
Gregory Foster ate 17 Ghost Peppers in a minute, and now he holds the Guinness World record for most Bhut Jolokia chili peppers eaten in one minute.
As anyone who eats spicy food can tell you, it hurts going in, and it hurts, even more, coming out. Therefore, Charmin has a message for the record holder, “We’ll see you on the other side 👀”
Charmin, let’s be honest; even your strong toilet paper will be no match for his butthole when the chilis come out. And out of all of the toilet papers, I think you have the best chance of surviving.
So when you fail, I will be here to give you a squeeze. Oh, wait…
